Best vegan meals in Paphos - Edit
This place deserves more than 5 stars for everything I have experienced there. The yellow lentil dip with caramelised red onion is so delicious that I wanted to eat it again after dessert. The meals I had were full of flavour which was surprising considering they used simple ingredients. They have the best vegan baklava I have ever tried which they serve with beautiful strawberry gelato. There are no words for their chocolate cake 👌🏻.

Gorgeous Cypriot Food - Edit
This meal was literally so delicious I'm in love. Really cute restaurant and really lovely staff. The food was, again, scrumptious. I got the chick'n bites (cauliflower) and then the vegan platter and both were to die for. Left feeling full and fulfilled and damn I might just not go back to england.

Had the vegan mezze for two person, the portions were really big so everybody can get fed up. The staff also recommends not to eat too much of the bread served as starter. You also have the Option for a vegan Dessert!

Excellent selection of vegan mezze which were carefully prepared by the owners who did a great job preparing the vegan options over the years. One of the places which though not fully vegan deserve 5 star reviews.

Unfortunately it is open only during summer, so you need to take advantage of that. Always book in advance as they are busy most of the time!
They have a lot of vegan options for starters, main dishes and even a special vegan menu for desserts 🌱
The vegan mezze starts with the traditional dips- hummus and tahini, served with roasted beetroot, seasonal pickles, marinated green olives and village salad with vegan feta. Than you have a lentils and aubergines dip, which I loved😋
Food keeps coming and when you think that must be it, they bring something more😁
Expect traditional dishes like "louvi", black eyed peas cooked with chard, spinach with rice, couscous, grilled aubergines with vegan mozzarella, cauliflower wings, lemon green beans..
Chocolate cake, baklava, apple pie and raspberry ice cream if you left room for dessert😅
We finished our amazing dinner with a complimentary homemade orange liqueur!

This app is flawed because you cannot leave a 5 star review for restaurants that aren’t fully vegetarian. It totally deserves it! Soo many vegan choices. Staff are soo friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough! If your in Paphos you NEED to come here!

I wanted to order a starter but the waiter told me no need it's in the mezze which will be plenty of food for three people. The item never came in the mezze, and whilst it was an okay amount of food, none of us were full up.

The food itself is pretty good, however everything tastes really strongly of vegetable stock and salt. The dishes are almost all just stewed vegetables or vegetables and bean stews, which is nice but some bread would have gone well with it.

As dessert we had the vegan baklava and vegan chocolate cake. Again both amazing.
We left with 2 giant food babies in our stomachs.
10000% recommend!
Tips:
- Do come with super empty stomach
- don’t stuff yourself with the free bread
- make a reservation. The place gets packed

Absolutely amazing! I have just left and I honestly could come back tomorrow. I had a vegan meze and it was the best thing I have had as a vegan in Paphos. Do not miss out. The BBQ cauliflower wings were yummy and the meals kept coming. The omni’s with me were super jealous and clearly wished they had mine. I visit family here all the time, not so much lately, but I will continue to support this business who constantly checked that I was happy with the food, which I clearly was! I also had the vegan baklava and had two ice cream flavours, to die for! Yummy! I would have uploaded photos but I got too excited for all the food I kept forgetting! 🤣🙈

Delicious meze and desserts! The staff was very attentative (they swapped the butter for free bread with vegan version immediately) and quick. Come with empty stomach, there is so much food and all is really delicious.

If HappyCow would allow 5 stars, I would for sure give 5 stars. Vegan meze is more like food experience, than just dinner. The dishes included in the meze change depending on the day, and it doesn’t get boring. However portions are huge, so I’d recommend coming hungry and not stuffing yourself with free bread. The Windmill is a family run business, and you can feel the friendly atmosphere.

Read moreWe tried vegan meze here. Some of the ingredients are sooo good! There were dishes with vegan cheese. At the very beginning, after we made the order, the waiter brought as vegan butter, although we did not ask. It’s so cute 💓
The volume of the meze, of course, was not for the faint-hearted, but we managed.
There were charming olives in herbs with garlic: they are not like typical olives at all! There was even something nutty in them. The waitress said that her grandfather was preparing them according to a special old recipe.
We also ate an vegan Aubergine Sadhanaki and vegan Chick'n'wings (cauliflower) in breadcrumbs. Both were fantastic.

Highly recommend.
UPD: In 2021, new dishes were added to the vegan meze. For example, tender fava with caramelized onion, salad with vegan feta, cauliflower wings in vegan carob honey, baked mushrooms, eggplant, cherry and zucchini on a fava pillow, some dishes with juicy mushrooms etc. It is noticeable that the staff is great at pumping their skills in serving dishes — each dish now looks like a work of art. Definitely, vegan meze at Windmill is a must in Paphos.
Be sure to try the chocolate cake sprinkled with hot chocolate, it's superb!

Lovely taverna serving a good selection of vegan dishes. All fresh ingredients, freshly made. We had the vegan meze. It was delicious but there was so many dishes, it beat us! Fully recommend.

We took the vegan meze and it was amazing. The food is traditional and home made, some of the meals also very healthy. The meze was huge and we couldn't even finish it so we took it home. Highly recommend this place. Home wine was also delicious!
