Vegan stop in Peru, IN! - Edit
One of only a handful places in North Central Indiana that serves vegan fare! This place is offering up more than the standard vegan options that you can find. As others have said they offer up jackfruit as a replacement to meat in many of their dishes around with several options that are vegan only. On our 1st stop tried their mac n tease which I would recommend to anyone seeking a plant based option for this dish.
Read moreThe main draw back I could see is limited seating which may be a cause for you to wait. We ended finishing our meal just before noon on Saturday which at that point they had one free table open.
Pros: good selection of vegan entrees, small cafe/diner vibe
Cons: limited seating

Good Vibes! - Edit
Excellent food. The use of tongue catching spices and herbs. Walls full of paintings for sale by local artist. A good asortment of Indiana wines to choose from. I had the moscato this time, and the chicken salad sandwhich which was very different from the normal average chicken salad sandwhich, and a side of puzzle tots, its like adult version of tots. They also tasted more grown up lol. And their B.A.L.T. their version of BLT...was also NOT your average BLT! Food tasted fresh. Prolly going to become my new favorite eatery!

Delicious food, wide vegan selection - Edit
Careful or you’ll miss it! It’s a total gem that’s somewhat hidden in the downtown area. I found it thanks to Happy Cow! Great service & delicious food. I loved how all their vegan/vegan substitution options were clearly marked on the menu. I ordered the homemade black bean & lentil burger with fries & a vegan dipping sauce. Everything was very good! They also have a decent selection of local craft beer on draft, which is a nice touch! Just have to check online to make sure a certain beer is vegan, but it was great, too! It’s somewhat small, so seating was limited. We got there before the dinner rush started, so had no trouble getting a table, though. If I’m passing through Peru again, I’ll definitely return!

Hipster diner in the middle of Nowhere! - Edit
Voodoo Public house seems to be the only cute Hipster diner in town. This place has lots of vegan options, plus they can make some of their staples vegan including specials! We started off with Puzzle Tots and a delicious vegan sauce. I had the vegan Bahn Mi with jackfruit and the vegan style Mexican corn for the side. The portions are perfect and quick. Our server was super accommodating and friendly, and when she found out I was vegan she was bummed for me that they were sold out of cheesecake for me. I guess I will have to have that the next time we come to Peru, Indiana!

Surprising Little Gem - Edit
The Voodoo Public House is a surprising little gem in downtown Peru, Indiana. It feels like a typical Midwestern diner until you look at the menu and the specials. Yesterday's specials included Jackfruit Curry, Mac Tease, and Mango Vegetable soup. I tried all 3--the first two for lunch and the soup for the road trip after a 22 mile bike ride on the Nickel Plate Trail (another gem). All 3 dishes were tasty and very well-seasoned.
