Low Key & Delicious - Edit
I had been worried that my non-vegetarian friends would not be thrilled with this place or that it might feel pretentious, but it was delightful. It is very low key- you order at counter, find your own seat, & bus your own dishes. Everything we had off the menu was great and enough for a meal when you combine a couple items. The avocado toast plus soup or a burger with sides, etc. The chickpea pot pie was filling and delicious and even the cookies were good. We were able to put several tables together for our large group and it wasn't a problem at all. Quick service and the parking is free just down the road under the highway bridge.

A delicious and welcomed additional to downtown - Edit
We’ve done meal packages for takeout, eaten in for lunch and just finished brunch. The food is delicious, fresh and many items are grown locally.

Wow! If in Knoxville (or anywhere close) check this place out! - Edit
I have eaten in lots of vegan restaurants around the country and will say that Vid'l is right at the top. This is what more vegan restaurants should aspire to. Creative, delicious, great presentation, not pretentious, friendly staff. Just a fabulous experience all around. We had the chickpea pot pie, grits and greens, and shredded brussel sprouts at lunch, each super delicious and the biscuit on the pot pie was incredible. So impressed that we bought take out salads to have for dinner which were equally as good, dressed with vegan queso! The owner told us they have been open less than two months but everything was right on point. Well done, Vid'l! Can't wait to go back.

Creative fresh beautiful amazing - Edit
We hail from Portland Oregon, arguably the capital of vegan food. So we feel confident saying the food at Vid’l is some of the best we have had anywhere. Vegetable forward, creative, and incredibly flavorful. Ingredients are top notch (fresh and local). The food is light but does not compromise on flavor. The presentation is beautiful and the service so friendly.

Great one of a kind! - Edit
This was our first time here and we are impressed. So far we have only tried the Chickpea Pot Pie which was excellent, but the menu is full of other savory choices which I look forward to sampling during future visits. Everything seems to be made from scratch using original recipes - ie not your typical vegan faire. Service is fast. Several take out options and sweets available for grab and go. Wine available.

Beautiful local plant based food! - Edit
The food at Vidl is simply amazing. Many of the ingredients are local and seasonal, and a lot of thought and care go into each dish. The great majority of the dishes are vegan, a few have honey and are clearly indicated on the menu. This is the kind of food I would happily cook for myself every day.
