Good plantbased Filipino eats.

Veggie Spot is a great addition to Davao’s plant-based food scene. Tucked inside Balai Belen Compound, alongside Kapeweños, it serves familiar Filipino favourites made entirely plant-based without losing the flavours people grew up with.

The highlight for me was the Chicken Inasal. It had all the savoury, smoky, and comforting qualities you’d expect from the classic dish, while being completely vegan. It’s the kind of meal that even non-vegans would enjoy.

What I appreciate most about Veggie Spot is how approachable the food is. There’s no attempt to reinvent Filipino cuisine, just well-executed, satisfying dishes that happen to be 100% plant-based.

If you’re looking for affordable, familiar Filipino comfort food in Davao, Veggie Spot is definitely worth a visit.
