I went to this place with my vegan husband and my non-vegan brother-in-law and we all three found the food very good. There is a wide variety of flavours and textures and the buffet concept is excellent, especially in an expensive place as Copenhagen! The complimentary water was also appreciated, as was the relaxed atmosphere. I would come back any time!

Butter Chicken Masala! - Edit
I had the Butter Soy Chicken Masala dish instead of the buffet option. This is the first vegan Indian fake meat food I ever had. Very delicious and a bit spicy, great. The staff was very friendly and went out of her way to help us out several times. Will go back there when in town.

The dishes were standard, but I ate happily. It had been a long time for me since trying a buffet, so I was excited to have that many gluten-free options.
I will probably come back here at some point, it can be a cool place to bring people transitioning to veganism.
In order for this to become a favourite, though, an upgrade is required.
Pros: Vegan buffet experience , Indian flavours, Mostly gluten-free

Back when they announced the opening, I was so excited to come here since I absolutely love the other Veggie Heroes, but I must say that I am pretty disappointed. The first time I hoped that it was just because they had a bad day, but I have been here three times and it has only ever been okay, nothing special. I highly recommend going to the South Indian which is just around the corner if you're looking for extraordinary Indian food although I really want to support Veggie Heroes for being an all vegan restaurant.

A very cozy place with a lot of great Indian dishes. More than half of them do not contain mock meat - you can choose of a wide variety of other options if you don't like mock meat. The hot dishes come with a big salad buffet and there are very tasty desserts as well. Highly recommended!

Veggie Heroes was such a delight - If you love Indian food & mock meats, this is the place for you. There are so many options to choose from including many sauces and toppings (although not a wide variety of flavours). There is also a student discount available making it super affordable for an all you can eat location. There are also momos (Nepalese dumplings) and Noodle Soups available upon order.

I hate to give a vegan restaurant a poor rating, but this was just not good. I was considering not giving a review, but that's also not really fair, so here is a (brutally honest) one.
Read moreI ate their on one of their first opening days, and it left much to improve in my opinion, but I recently went back to give them the benefit of the doubt and was very unimpressed.
All the stews were lacking spices and were filled with over-cooked "veggie meat". One of the lentil dishes I had was clearly burnt and poured into another container, it was inedible.
The salad bar felt like visiting a place trying to be vegan friendly 15 years ago; iceberg salad, tomatoes and cucumber.
We also tried their "Indian sweets", and couldn't finish them - they tasted like pure sugar and butter.

Nothing bad to say about Veggie Heroes; location is great, the place is so cozy, warm, and homely. The food was delicious (I ate way more than I had room for, but worth it!), and the people were so kind and welcoming. I most certainly recommend this place and will be back soon!

Very nice buffet with lots of tasty choices. Many dishes with meat substitutes, but it felt like a part of the experience. There were also several choices without soy meat, e.g. with chickpeas.

Having already tried the other restaurant on Blegdamsvej (which I love), this one was a disappointment. The poorly made signs made it difficult to know what you were eating, and only one of the dishes tasted good. The others were either lacking taste, or didn't take anywhere close to their non-vegan counterparts - I don't know what they were thinking with that butter chicken!
