Good but pricey

Overall it’s a nice option with all your typical vegan comfort food. I found the food and service good.
The portions are on the smaller side and $17-$21 for a meal, drink and side is pretty expensive.

Pros: 100% Vegan, Good amount of street parking, Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive , Average to smaller portion sizes

Remarkably unremarkable

Bland, a bit overpriced, and overall disappointing.

Best of breed

Rotating diverse menu of fresh and tasty stuff. Worth a few extra $$$ for real food. 100% plant-based, no ambiguity. Even a nice modern-cafe atmosphere.

The Melt and Tacos were on point!

Delicious vegan food! I got beyond tacos with chips, a beyond burger melt, quinoa and beans, and sweet potato fries. I adore the recycled and compostable utensils and to go boxes. The service was great and fast. The food tasted great. The price was a bit steep but not the worst I have seen. I am glad to have another vegan spot to add to the Arsenal.

Pros: All vegan food, Tastes great, Friendly Fast Service

Cons: Pricey, Parking is horrible

Food is just okay

Their food is pretty bland and nothing special. It’s nice having a fast casual option but the food is underwhelming.

can't go wrong here

Veggie Grill (both Chicago locations) has been a great addition to Chicago's vegan food scene. Everything is good--the standards, the seasonal menu items, all of it! They have a really well-made mobile app for ordering, and the rewards program regularly gives you discounts. And of course, all-vegan means no-stress when trying to decide what to order.

Pros: all-vegan menu, food is delicious, app and rewards program are great

not great, so sad about it

I went with 3 other people and got a really tiny portion for a lot of money and I could have made it at home and it would have been better. Everyone I was with felt disappointed and that we were over charged for food we could have cooked better at home. What made me sad though was thinking about non vegans eating here at hating vegan food. Rule #1 Vegan food needs to taste delicious. This was ok at best.

Cons: small portions, expensive for what I was served, Could have made it at home better. :(

Unacceptable $30 meal

We ordered the super taco bowl and Nashville hot chikn. We waited a very long time and our food was not hot at all. The sandwich was missing pickles which is a key part of the recipe (and they did not warn us). The bowl looked nothing like the picture and tasted really not good. We couldn’t eat either. We spoke to an employee and there was no manager or card to call the manager. We would not go back.

Cons: Both entrees were not hot, Missing essential ingredients , Subpar service and lack of management

Delicious

My favorite menu item by far at this place is the mondo nachos, followed by the Sante Fe Crispy Chicken and VG Beyond Burger. That being said, avoid the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. It's not even edible, absolutely disgusting and sugary. Veggie Grill doesn't always get it right, but when you order the right things, it's a 10.

Great customer service, the food is all Vegan and if anything is not right, they will fix right away.

Pros: lots of tasty stuff to choose from.

Cons: so far the app is still not working.

Bland Fast Food that Doesn’t Live up to the Hype

I was excited to learn that Veggie Grill was opening up in Chicago. I tried it today with some friends and we were all totally underwhelmed.

We had the buffalo wings, nachos, meatball sandwich, some type of salad with chicken and Parmesan cheese (I believe it was a Caesar salad) with sides of mac & cheese and brussels sprouts. The only things that were OK were the buffalo wings and brussels sprouts… I wouldn’t recommend anything else that I tried. Based on my experience, I doubt I would go back… believe it or not I think Native Foods is better, and the nachos are nowhere near as good as Handlebar’s. Ka’Lish is still my favorite fast food vegan restaurant in the city.

Pros: Extensive menu, Clean space, Friendly, knowledgeable staff

Cons: IMO lousy food

yes yes!! so pumped about this place.

Can’t believe I’m the first review on Veggie Grill.
So excited they’ve moved into the neighbourhood.
The food and atmosphere is fantastic.
Kind of has a healthy fast food vibe, with nice service and amazing food.
Had the polenta and meat balls, and chicken burger both amazing.
Will be coming back on a regular basis!

Pros: vegan!!
