Free vegan food for people in need - Edit
At the moment the cafe is operating in the modality of free vegan food provision to people in need. The cafe offers free set of: 1) soup; 2) second dish; 3) tea/coffee/compote. Cafe's location is at the heart of the Lviv city. The food is nutrituous and balanced. The menu is updated daily.
Read moreThe staff is mostly very nice, I've met Anna on the 1st April and Serhii on the 2nd April, both of them were very nice to me. It seems that on the 3rd April it was my last visit to this place, as I've met Marta, and I've got a feeling of being not welcome at all.
However this place provides free vegan food for everyone, each time before starting eating I was donating to this cafe as I've an opportunty to pay for food. During my last visit, I've realised that this cafe also disseminates takeaway vegan food stuff. I've asked Marta, whether I can buy one, and she told that, these are only for those who can't afford it. The answer was completely fine for me, but I've additionally asked whether she can suggest any place in the city where I can buy vegan food at the market, and she told that she doesn't know where I can buy it.
I will add that since the late February (when the full-scale war launched), I've got a very few opportunities finding vegan food in rural area of my stay. Having a short business trip to Lviv, I was hoping to find some store where I could buy at least some vegan items for taking back to my village where I temporarily reside. Sadly, it is comletely not easy for non-local person to find the places where vegan food is available for purchase. Even HappyCow suggests 4 vegan cafes in Lviv out of which 2 were non-operational. And I believed that it should be not disturbing for a local vegan to help a non-local vegan finding a vegan stores in the native city.
It seems that most visitors were non-vegans and it is great that they've got an opportunity to eat free vegan food and to take some vegan snacks home. If you are a vegan and you can afford paying for food, it is better to avoid this place and just to google the options elsewhere, as you may not be welcomed here. I believe that maybe Marta is a nice person, and she could have amany things to do and having not the best day, but sadly, she spoiled my day as well.

Read moreVega Room have been giving their all, providing free food for people during this crisis. Not only are they feeding the usual vegan crowd but also the wider local population and internally displaced people.
They are feeding people in their cafe, as well as delivering hot meals to places hosting multilple IDPs. As if that wasn't enough, they are also sending packages of food and ingredients to vegans across Ukraine who are cut off from their usual food supplies and struggling to get things like vegan proteins.
All of this is becoming harder and harder because they do not have all their usual suppliers to call upon, as so many things have had to close down and supply chains have been disrupted. There are many ingredients that they simply cannot get hold of - the things that are super important that vegans have.
How do I know this? I only learned of their existence a week ago due to a plea they put out for ingredients. I am based in the UK, where me and a few others have used money donated by Lush Cosmetics to organise purchasing these important vegan items from a Polish wholesaler, then Polish volunteers hired vans and drove the delivery into Ukraine.
Marta and all of the VegaRoom team have shown immense gratitude to us, despite us doing such a small thing for them when they are doing so much all day, every day. Their only concern is to be of use to the vegan community, both in Lviv and across the country.
I want everyone who reads these reviews on Happy Cow to know that VegaRoom are vegan heros. If my country ever became a war zone, I only hope I could emulate a fraction of what they have managed.
To all at VegaRoom - much love to you, keep your spirits up and keep being the powerful people you are.

Being a non-local vegan, I've been refused in advice of closest vegan stores from a local vegan in the times of shortages of vegan production. I don't think that this is nice behave. The review should not consist exclusively positive feedback, I believe that it is important sharing honest feedback "as it is". Wish you having a nice evening.

It's a little restaurant where you can get unbelievable delicious homemade meals. I was there today with my husband for lunch and all dishes we had were amazing! Please try their cake of the day as well!

A very cozy small place with tasty food, extremely nice waiters, books and board games free to use on shelves and two power outlets. All the food in the menu is vegan, and everything we tried over the monthly stay in Lviv was great! Note, though, that the place is pretty small, and there can be no free table for you in evening hours, especially during weekends.

The place is totally vegan and well you come to the resturant for good food and dont worry youll get it, ive there for 2 times and the place has nice music its quite not crowded feels like home, i had fun to plan my trips while eating great vegan food, and its not that expansive i had a 170 grh meal that satiated me.

Всё начинается с приятного, уютного, стильного интерьера: книжные полки, композиции из дерева, мха, ламп, бокалов, много зелени и винила, велосипед, проигрыватель для пластинок, где можно выбрать любую по вкусу и запустить. А дальше богатейшее меню: целая страница рождественских предложений (среди которых безусловный лидер - мягкая и сочная сейтановая отбивная по-французски с нежнейшим пюре), разные виды салатов, горячих основных блюд, закусок, ланчей, десертов. И всё из того, что мы попробовали - невообразимо вкусно! А ещё тут есть возможность купить посуду, которая понравилась, купить еду в виде полуфабриката, чтобы приготовить дома, заказать еду сразу на сайте, раз в месяц приготовить любимое блюдо и дополнить им меню, и раз в месяц послушать тематические лекции от интересных личностей. 100% Vegan in the very Old Town of Lviv - Edit
This cozy vegan place is located quite central in the Old Town of Lviv. Although the cafe itself is quite small, the atmosphere is very cool, open and welcoming. Very nice staff, i got a welcoming glass of water with a smile.
Read moreThey have nice ukrainian food in vegan variation. I got very tasty Deruny (typical eastern european potate pancakes) and a fresh green smoothie. In general they have a lot of cool smoothies to offer.
Prices are quite high for locals, but still absolutely ok regarding the quality and the service.

This is the first place i ate in Lviv and it set the bar high! The waitress Kari was so sweet and helpful. She spoke great english and gave me lots of advice about things to do while in Lviv. The food was delicious and a great price - only 135 UAH for a soup, noodle and a smoothie (about 5 euro!!). Lots of GF options and their staff are very knowledgable about it. Lovely decor with nice music. Will definitely be going back!
