Disappointing

I really wanted to try this place. I've been once before, years ago, before I had many other burgers. The counter person seemed surley and didn't give me much response to asking about the menu. My burger bottom bun was soggy, weird because there was nothing else on the plate. Our bill was $35 for two burgers and a $7!!!!! Bottled kombucha. No fries. I tried to add fries after ordering but the website wouldn't let us add it so the fries would have been an additional $7 which seemed high for a small side of fries. Disappointed considering the cost and that the only thing organic is the bun. Soy is not organic and the texture of the patty was weird.

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Expensive, staff not friendly

Shake Shack for vegans

Everything here is vegan, and most of the options are burger-centric (there are some vegan chicken tenders too and slices of dessert cake). The broccoli 🥦 as a side is a cool touch, though I typically order that plus a small fry.

My favorite 🍔 is the Mustang Relish Burger (pickles, mustard, aioli). VeganBurg offers the Impossible Burger as a substitute patty for its default soy patties, which are typically fried on most burger varieties (though you can also get them grilled). The soy patties are rather heavy (I often don’t feel great after eating them), so this is the rare case where I’d recommend the Impossible over what I think is a homegrown alternative. Also love the Haight ‘N Salsa burger, which features avocado and pico de gallo.

One knock: I definitely do not recommend the “Rainbowl Salad”—this is barely any food for $10, and the lettuce appears to be what you’d use for the burgers (it’s maybe a step above iceberg). This could be something more substantial / nutritious.

Pros: Tons of options, new items periodically , So tasty that non-vegans can probably enjoy it, Packaging is pretty environmentally sustainable

Cons: A typical meal will run you $15 or more

Veganburg

I liked VeganBurg and ate at this restaurant a few times when I lived in SF, but I never felt compelled to visit frequently. Most of their burgers were the fake chicken variety (which is one of my least favorite vegan faux meats) and their fries were covered in nori (seaweed flavor). I like the idea/concept of this place so I wouldn't be opposed to eating at VB again, but I hope they expand their patty options used in their burgers.

Vegan fast food 🍔

Enjoyed the burgers quite a lot and just having so many options.
Tip: try their vanilla soft serve! I couldn’t believe it wasn’t milk.
This place really has a fast food chain ambience, (which might not sound appealing) but it was really interesting to experience, especially with everything being vegan.

Best Veg Burgers!

I had the Tangy Tartar with a side of broccoli and my sister had the Avocado Beetroot with Jalapeño Aioli Fried and both were SUPER DELICIOUS! The patties aren’t meant to mimic meat - they are true veggie burgers (which my sister appreciated because she doesn’t like mock meats because she doesn’t like meat). The sides were delicious too! The broccoli was cooked so it still had a crunch and was nice and lemony. All the burger options all looked so delicious! We will definitely be back with our entire families to try all the options!

Open one in Sacramento!!!

Pros: Completely vegan menu, Delicious burgers and sides, Nice ambiance

Tasty vegan fast food

I went off an internet recommendation to get the Creamy Shrooms burger ($10.90 tax & tip). I’m glad I didn’t order the combo or sides since the burger itself was satisfying and filling. The mushroom & non-GMO soy patty also contains garlic and onions and is the same on all of the burgers.: you’re basically just choosing what kind of fixings and sauces are going on it. There’s an option to get a gluten-free & soy-free bun and patty for an extra $2.

I had to wait a long time while the couple in front of me explained that they don’t eat garlic or onions, so they wanted to order their burgers without the patties and substitute for normally paid add-ons, like avocado. But there was a misunderstanding, and the staff charged them in full for the add-ons, which caused them to rescind their add-on orders. The situation reminded me of a sadder version of Arby’s half-assed attempt to offer a vegetarian burger for April Fool’s Day one year.

My burger came out really fast, and I happily devoured it at one of the few standing counters. But when all is said and done, this is really expensive fast food. Definitely not priced right in my opinion. If you want to convince people to switch from McDonald’s or Burger King, $11 burgers (without any fries) is not the way to do it.

Pros: crispy patties, flavorful, fast service

Cons: expensive

Conscientious staff and good fries!

Crystal was very helpful ringing us out and making sure the food was safe for our dietary restrictions. Burger patty was great! Tartar sauce was excellent. Gluten free bun was a little too thin and small. Seaweed fries were amazing!

Pros: Knowledgeable staff, Great flavor

Cons: Gluten free buns are a bit too small

Hawaiian Teriyaki 💖💖💖

My first lunch in SF was here... and dinner... I loved the place (lovely furniture and smart use of materials). But best of all was food: I tried here my fav burger ever, THE HAWAIIAN TERIYAKI. Pineapple fits burgers too! Brocoli highly recommended too.

One of the best burgers I've ever had

I got the BBQ burger with the impossible patty and there were just so many good things going on. Sauce to filling and patty ratio was perfect. Not oily/ fatty. Look and taste of burger were 11/10. The burger actually stayed together with each bite. Only thing is, it was pretty expensive but everything is in SF.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Expensive

Seasonal special

The vegan burger menu is solid, but it's the seasonal special burger that makes it worth coming back. Best one so far we portobello mushroom with truffle sauce. Decadent.

Tasty Vegan Junk Food

SF visitor from the UK.

Limited but tasty enough menu. Premises a little chilly and cheap faux grass decor in places but fine for a quick bite.

Pros: Fully vegan menu. , ‘Chicken’ tenders and dirty fries were tasty. , Reasonable prices.

Cons: Ranch sauce was pretty tasteless. , The cashier seemed stoned and not fully with it.
