Nice Contrast of Textures and Flavors - Edit
The texture blend of spinach and spaghetti noodles provided a decent texture contrast along with the scrambled tofu. The milkshakes were made in a manner that you would consume it slowly and thus be more satisfied.

Vegan tree!! - Edit
I'm in love with Vegan Tree. Such a friendly place. As far as I know, this is the only place in philly to get vegan bubble tea. So that's pretty hype. The taro and coconut flavors are especially good.

Food is not clean/pure - Edit
Food tasted very good but they do not use pure ingredients. I saw the owner pull out a Skippy jar, shake it up and pour something out of it. That's not my idea of vegan cuisine. The noodles we're sub-par with a gooey sweet sauce that probably came out of a bottle. The broccoli soup was delicious but bright green. I wonder why the color was so bright. Through half the meal I started feeling tired. The next morning I was puffy and had a headache from all the salt and whatever else was in the sauces. The cheese steak sandwich was very tasty, but again I question the ingredients. It's a shame.

We had summer avocado rolls, smoothies, the pasta, a salad, and the chick’n tenders, everything was wonderful!! We will be back again to try the “cheesesteak” and some of the rice dishes! A little something for everyone! Even the kids are the pasta!!!! Amazing!

Fresh and delicious food! - Edit
Vegan tree is 5 stars hands down. Nothing on the menu will disappoint.
Read moreI highly recommend the vegan tree sandwich. The hot pots are large servings, so they’re good for two people to share and are loaded with flavor and vegan goodness. If you want fresh vegan food with authentic flavors, this is the place to go.

Good food, atmosphere could use work - Edit
All vegan spot with good food- not the best vegan we’ve ever had but still good. Had vegan milkshakes which were good! The inside didn’t seem to have a/c and it was 85 outside so it was pretty muggy inside. Employees were really nice.

Weird Experience - Edit
I visited here with my boyfriend before going to a show since Blackbird was closed and under construction. When we got there, we were seated in a corner by their cleaning supplies... looked like their “break” table. We ordered, and when I asked a question about what’s in their one dish (if they can remove something) and they couldn’t give me an answer. When we got our dishes, I got the wrong thing with hardly anything in it. It was awkward and awful. I was too embarrassed because of the situation to say anything that I just ate the small thing and we got out of there as quick as we could. Am considering to give it another chance sometime, because maybe it was just the waiter we had and bad timing? I’m not sure.

I'm all for reducing cruelty, but after seeing three roaches while I ate there, I've decided not to return. That and the server was on the phone the entire time. I was the only one who was there. That speaks volumes. The pasta was ok, but not worth the price.

We left - Edit
We were in the mood for something different, and decided to stop by this location. I read that it was previously a Loving Hut, and we were interested to see what options they had available. While there were a few options on the menu, there didn't seem to be anything on the menu different than our local Loving Hut (in Falls Church, VA), and nothing unique to the local area . . . which I have noticed many of the Loving Huts try to do as we've visited them around the world. This location is still affiliated with Loving Hut, but what I've discovered from another "former" loving hut in Florida, is that in order to use the name, it is quite expensive. I'm guessing based upon the menu, and the pictures of the Supreme Master Ching Hai throughout the restaurant, that the price of the name "Loving Hut" is the only reason why this place is called Vegan Tree. I can't speak to the quality of the food, as we decided to leave, and try another local vegan friendly spot, versus trying something we've already had at another Loving Hut. I'm guessing it is similar to many of the Loving Huts that we've been to before.

Quick Vegan Lunch To-Go - Edit
Options galore here! Sometimes I just need a place that's 100% vegan so you can order quickly and get whatever you want without really having to mull it over. This is one of those great lunch break spots where you can call in the order ahead of time and just swing by and pick it up, and it's pretty delicious. I love taking advantage of their lunch specials which give you more than enough food for the afternoon. Another definite pro is that they have healthy options so I'm not just enjoying another fried, albeit delicious, based meal. I've enjoyed everything I've tried, some more than others.

Their bubble teas are my favorite in the city and I love it with their cheesesteak. It is my favorite cheesesteak ever, by far, I just wish there was a little more filling in it.

The waitress was not very attentive. We continued to run out of coffee and water. She never caught on to the fact. We had to continue to ask for refills.

Definitely skip this one - Edit
I was excited to try this place and had ok service but won't be going back. For $27 I got a vegan cheesesteak (average) a strawberry spinach salad (bad) avocado rolls (below average) and a green smoothie (good). I dined alone at lunch in an empty restaurant and the food came out piecemeal, salad last. The restaurant was not clean, the table was sticky, and the bathroom was just horrendous. Clearly uncleaned for a long time. The people who came after me couldn't order sushi because there was no rice. I hate to write a bad review, and want to support vegan places but this isn't small town USA... Philly has plenty of other vegan options.

I went to here on my lunch break. I order the vegan tree wrap. It was great. The employees were very nice and helpful. Its a good size inside with plenty of seating. I also order a pineapple mango smoothie and it was amazing. Good sized menu also. I'm going to try the sushi next. I'll definitely be going back.

Smoothies hit the spot! - Edit
Walking down South Street on a hot summer afternoon (or a cold day in January), step into Vegan Tree for a delicious bubble tea smoothie. Reasonably priced, plenty of flavors, and the bubbles (tapioca beads) are really fun.

Nice variety of food, bit disorganized operations - Edit
We went with a big group, so that might have thrown them off, but it seems like our orders came out very staggered, with some items practically forgotten until we got them in take-out containers when paying. So maybe you should stay away if you're in a hurry. But the food itself was all very well seasoned and tasty. There was a nice variety of flavors and textures, each dish was unique and really good. I wish the bubble teas were flavored & colored naturally, instead of with the standard artificial syrups.
