Read moreWe each got a drink and shared 5 dishes, and the price came out to 25 euros. Wowweeee. It doesn’t get much better than that. Vegan rock serves Spanish style pub food, and it doesn’t try to be anything it’s not. And let me just say this: I DONT MIND THAT ONE BIT!
Every dish we got was a little different to what I’ve had before, in the best of ways. My favourite was a Spanish omelette. A slice of savoury goodness.
The staff were lovely, they were watching the local Seville soccer game and it was a Spanish vibe to say the least. Gimme more of that PLEASE. They ended up winning 1-0. VAMOS REAL BETIS!!

Nice place on a cute plaza that offers traditional tapas veganized. We tried tortilla, no prawn sandwich, no ham montadito, no pollo with rice and empanadas. Everything was tasty! The owner is very friendly.

Had high hopes for this place, based on other good reviews. First walked in and the interior had a funny smell, so we sat outside.

Had pickled Zuchini, spanish omlete, and potato salad. The potato salad was too salty. The rest, nothing memorable. Then we had 2 small sandwiches, with vegan prawn and chorizo. Nothing noteworthy on flavour. Then we tried a triple decker, vegan bacon sandwich. Was just basic, plain, thick white bread. Nothing to get excited about at all.
Pretty dissapointed. Wine not that great either.

After walking all day we rocked up to our reservation bang on time to a big welcome from David.
Read moreI noticed a picture of Phil Lynott, whom I knew back home in Dublin, and David proceeded to proudly show me his rock & roll picture gallery. The music & the food are equally important for David methinks, respect.
He was particularly proud of rock bands from Seville and I’ll include them in the attached pictures.
We then sat outside and ordered a load of vegan tapas dishes that were subsequently delivered to the table one by one by the brilliant Sevillian vegan native.

El sitio muy acogedor, aires de rock and roll y muy buena música.

Lots of varied options including a daily specials board. It’s nice to have traditional dishes made vegan. We tried some the patatas alioli tapa and the cerdo agridulce from the specials board. The food was very tasty although is very oily. But I love oil so that’s fine for me.

Read moreI've been here many times before, I can tell you it's very close to what locals eat. This is not a high cuisine restaurant, but rather a bar, the type of sevillian bar that's frequented by locals, neighbours, without pretending to be something else. Do not expect healthy salads and raw vegan health foods or anything like that here. It's all about comfort food and traditional bar foods!
The montaditos are nice. I recommend the tortilla, the ensaladilla, the vegarones, and whatever they have as dishes of the day, not listed in the menu... From mustard "chicken", to sweet and sour "pork", to lasagne, gnocchi, pisto, veggie balls, stews... They work a lot with seitan and also vegan cheeses to mimic the flavours of traditional tapas. The serranito is very good as well.

Very disappointing lunchtime visit - Edit
Sevilla can be a challenge for vegans so we were looking forward to our visit to Vegan Rocks. It turned out to be a very unsatisfactory experience. The menu - or at least the one we were presented with at lunchtime - is really quite uninspiring and is filled with fake meat, fake seafood, fake cheese and lots of potatoes. There are very few fresh vegetables to be seen, which is a real shame for a vegan restaurant!

The tortilla was weirdly stodgy, the prawn & chorizo montaditos tiny & seriously understuffed and the cheesy potatoes largely tasteless. The only saving grace was the gnocchi from the specials' board. Service was decidedly surly, if not just plain rude.
I'd personally recommend going to a regular tapas bar and wading through the menu to find the vegan options. They may be few and far between but I can guarantee they'll taste better than what is on offer here.
