What a joke - Edit
Arrived at the location after making a reservation based on the official website, only to find the restaurant completely closed and apparently inactive for a long time, with no staff inside and no indication of ongoing operations.
Read moreThis is extremely misleading. The website still allowed reservations for a location that was clearly not operational, resulting in a completely wasted trip.
What makes this even more disappointing is that after this happened, I received multiple automated emails asking me how my experience was and inviting me to leave a review — as if I had actually visited an operating restaurant. This only highlights how disconnected their systems and communication are.
I contacted the restaurant directly to explain the situation and request clarification, but received no response.
I have been a customer for years and have visited almost all of their locations, so this experience was especially disappointing. Keeping opening hours, locations, and reservation systems updated should be the absolute minimum for any restaurant.

The best burger I’ve ever had - Edit
I’ve tried their burger when I was in Amsterdam 2 years ago and eat 3 times when I was there. I will be in Amsterdam in July again and this is the place I will definitely eat my dinners.

We came here for lunch and were very disappointed. We tried the Mac and cheese bitterballs and the garlic bread, neither had much flavor. The sandwiches were overly sweet- all the sauces were weirdly sweet, to a point where I just could not eat it anymore. While everything was pretty, the only flavors were salt and the weird sweetness, which made the food borderline inedible. Additionally, it was very overpriced- the fries didn’t come with any kind of sauce, and when we asked for ketchup, we were charged €1.25 for each tiny bowl of ketchup. I would not recommend coming here, you’ll be overcharged for flavorless food.

Had the mix fizz and chips which is a mix of fries, sweetpotato fries, seafood mockmeats and a garlic based sauce. None of it had much flavour except for the overbearing heavy garlic sauce that made it sit like a clump in my stomach for hours after. I do not recommend that menu item. Also a very tiny portion for 18€

This has always been my favourite VJFB (happily, since the others seem to have all closed) and it remains a truth universally acknowledged that their kapsalon is simply fantastic. Other things are great too though!

If you go here get the VJFB Beastie (vegan schawarma) sandwich and the Betterballs, my boyfriend and I were in awe of how delicious the food was 1000000/10 so savory and scrumptious, perfect bread texture, perfect seasoning, perfect fillings.

This was honestly the best burger I've ever had. My two meat eating companions really enjoyed it and couldn't believe it was vegan. I could have eaten there for the rest of my life if I lives in Amsterdam. Sadly I'll have to just dream of that happening one day!
