Disappointing Service Damps Decent Flavors - Edit
I went to this vegan restaurant for dinner with two non-vegan friends to celebrate my birthday. Based on the glowing reviews, I had high expectations—but unfortunately, our experience was far from stellar. Maybe it was an off night, but it took 20 to 30 minutes for our main dishes to arrive, and just as long for the desserts. In total, we were there for about an hour and a half, mostly just waiting for our food.
Read moreA family of tourists sitting next to us also seemed frustrated. They complained to a male staff member that they hadn’t received half of their order and wanted to cancel the rest. He responded, “You cannot cancel because we already started preparing it!” which didn’t help the atmosphere.
The pricing was another issue. It felt too steep given both the portion sizes and the slow service. I was especially surprised by the raspberry cheesecake—it was literally the size of my index finger. After waiting for thirty minutes, I finished it in just three bites, barely a minute. The banana bread with rum was more generously sized, at least.
The food overall tasted good. I personally didn’t enjoy the cutlet sauce, but my friends said their plates were nice (the veggie curry dish and the pasta with chickpeas). Still, they were clearly frustrated by the long wait and the small portions. Despite dessert, they were still very hungry by the end of the meal. I felt embarrassed for recommending the place based on the reviews—it was definitely not the experience I had hoped for on my birthday.

Pros: Food tasted good enough, The girl who served us was nice and friendly, The soup in the set was tasty, but a bit too salty
Cons: Incredibly slow service, Too expensive for the amount you get, Super tiny dessert size

Delicious food - Edit
We had the dinner combination of a small soup and some greens as appetizers, a main course, and drinks. I had the spaghetti with mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious. My partner also enjoyed his curry very much.

Freundliche Bedienung.

Lovely food - Edit
I would echo what many people have already said. Good location with lovely food! Tried the kuruma-fu plate and carbonara pasta.
Read moreBoth dishes were good portion sizes and flavourful.
The lunch set felt a little on the expensive side but I guess that’s the price you pay for where it is located.
Staff also speak good English and they have an English menu.
Pros: Good food , Good portion size
Cons: A bit pricy

Lovely place for lunch! - Edit
My family went during opening time (was able to reserve via instagram before opening time). The staff were really friendly and attentive. I had the Carbonara with cutlet added to it and my family tried the other pasta dishes which they loved (added cutlet and cheese). I also enjoyed the soy matcha latte. This spot is close to the shrine. We ate there before exploring. It was totally worth it. I would definitely come here again if we weren’t located an hour away!😄

Not much is gluten free - Edit
I was excited to try this vegan place next to the temple. But turns out they don’t have much gluten free at all. I was hungry and disappointed. Ordered matcha latte and a side, nothing to talk about. Service is very polite and nice.

Great vegan food short walk from Kappabashi Street - Edit
I really enjoyed this place, after working up an appetite shopping. The set meal options changed daily so ask what they’re offering. Mine included a corn soup that seemed watery, but the simplicity of it, and the balance of the sweet corn with the black pepper and parsley was divine. A cabbage salad, and a seaweed salad that included lotus root, burdock root, and hajiki with a wonderful sweet broth/sauce. I got the chickpea spaghetti dish and it was really good. At serving, I thought it had two little sauce, but by the end, it was the perfect amount. You get a dollop of vegan pesto in the center, and when you stir it in it ends a perfect punch of basil in every bite.

I was getting tired of ramen and onigiris from the conveenies, and the curry and dessert really hit the spot. They also have clearly written gluten-free options, which is a plus! I'd come here again!
