Great option for junk food fix - Edit
New menu has more vegan and vego options.
Read moreVegan wings, battered pickles, pizza and burgers.
Quite expensive for what it is. But good place to eat, drink and be social.
Warning - do not get vegan cheese on your pizza. It taste almost like laundry liquid. Couldn't tell you what it is actually made of - it is inedible.

Bad pizza sauce - Edit
Had the vegan cheese pizza. Pizza sauce and cheese tasted really weird, not very nice, the dough was nice but the topping ruined the pizza. Has chips and vegan mayo and the mayo was really nice quite strong garlic mayo.

"Field Day" at Varsity - Edit
Ordered: The field day burger. Got a panko crumbed mushroom burger with some arugula, sundried tomato, crispy onions, and vegan cheese. Was able to swap the dressing for a vegan one with avocado in it.
Read moreWent to Varsity with a couple non-veg friends for a late dinner and to play their arcade games last night and was highly recommended the Field Day burger by one of them. I've had a mushroom burger from Grill'd before as a vegetarian and while I enjoyed it, the main issue I have with mushroom burgers is that they're soggy from the mushroom juice. I was interested to see how Varsity's compared and upon seeing the option to get a veganised version of the burger, I happily ordered.
Apart from a slight mix-up in the kitchen which was rectified quickly by our waitress, there were no issues. The burger tasted great and wasn't at all soggy from mushroom juice, given that it was crumbed. It was a slightly smaller serving size than I thought it would be, but not so small that it didn't satiate. I guess good portion-control is the keyword here. Would give 3.5 stars if I could.
If I were to go back to Varsity (and I'm sure I will), I'd probably order something different because there are a good range of options that can be veganised, and the Field Day burger sounds like the least spiciest of the lot. I take it as a good indicator of how tasty the rest of the vegan options would be :)
