Serves meat, vegan options available. Family-owned hotel with a restaurant serving meals for guests and visitors. Able to cater to vegans on the spot, but reservations are recommended. Menu changes based on season and availability. Breakfast options include vegan cheese, vegan oat milk & cereal, as well as basic foods such as fruits and jams. Lunch includes house-made vegan soups and mushroom stews with vegan mashed potatoes. Dinner includes vegan burger with vegetable sides and sauce. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-10:00pm. Hours are subject to change, call in advance to be sure.

Cozy, home-cooked vegan meals - Edit
If you find yourself in the area, do lower your expectations for vegan food. However, let yourself be surprised in Varangertunet. I stayed here for a few days, and they catered for me every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They even made me a wonderful dessert - tastier than the non-vegan option by the looks of it!
Read moreIf you are staying here, let them know in advance. They can buy vegan cheese for breakfast and of course they have vegan milk available anyways. They are very friendly, and will happily make you great vegan food. They had a vegan person work here before, so they know what they are doing.
Lunches and dinners were great, Norwegian-style meals - soups and stews. Vegan meat-substitutions were used once, but the way they make food, I didn't miss it in the other meals. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are vegan and in the area, overall wonderful food. Though do not be afraid to call them in advance, they can cater better if they know you are coming!
