Hot spot with good food - Edit
I was just one time at a Vapiano restaurant and I can’t remember anything. So I can just talk about this one in cologne Deutz and not about Vapiano in general.
Read moreFirst of all everything is labeled and vegan food has a special place on the menu. The food was delicious, i ordered pinsa pesto con spinaci. It’s at least a long pizza thingy. Just a bit more fancier and you get a scissor to cut it into pieces.
I was there on a Thursday evening. It was hard to get a table and it was pretty loud. If you search for a place where you want to stay for a longer time you should not choose this Vapiano. The toilets are also not the best place to be. It reminds me on a broken toilet of small bars/pubs.
I would love to give more than 3 stars because of the clearly labeled vegan food, but the atmosphere was that uncomfortable I just can’t so that. For a fast good meal it’s a good place.
Pros: Labeled vegan food, Different vegan options, Close to Lanxess Arena
Cons: Hot spot, hard to get a table, Loud, Toilets are not okay

Better than its reputation - Edit
I haven’t been to a Vapiano in years, and the last time I was they didn’t have any vegan options. Fast forward a few years, a bankruptcy later not much has changed, but they call pizza „pinsa“ now and have a decent selection of vegan options on the menu (although I don’t know if all Vapiano restaurants do so). I had a „pinsa“ with vegan salami and vegan cheese and it was good, not overwhelmingly super awesome the best food ever, but solid. So would I take a trip just to eat here? Surely not. Is it the best vegan Italian food you can get? No. But is it okay to go to a Vapiano if there’s nothing else nearby that fancies you? Very much so. It’s definitely better than its reputation.
Read morePros: Vegan options, fast preparation , you know what you‘ll get
Cons: It’s a profit-oriented franchise, don’t expect anything overly special

Don't know what vegan means - Edit
I ordered vegan pasta from the menu. I got a dish with seafood, cream, cheese and everything. Second try they gave me something with chicken but this time with vegan cream. I believe the stuff don't know what vegan means and also don't know their recipes. Very disappointing.
