Delicious Brunch - Edit
I wish the grits were vegan, but I loved my waffle and the crispy brussels sprouts. I also enjoyed the biscuit.

Plenty of vegan breakfast options - Edit
Mattie’s Diner was one of my all time favorites. I’m glad I can still get a good, Southern inspired breakfast while in Charlotte. Portions are ample and there are plenty of options to try on future visits.

Bright spot on the Charlotte breakfast scene! - Edit
What a great experience! There are multiple biscuit and waffle combinations that can be made vegan. The food was delicious, the cocktails were fun, the staff was knowledgeable, and the space was bright and welcoming. There was a line out the door when we got there, but it moved relatively quickly.

The Wafflery has great food and really friendly people who work there! I got the vegan chicken and waffles and the cold brew with oat milk that is on tap. Will definitely be a regular in my brunch rotation!

Nice selection of vegan options: vegan eggs, chicken, sausage, waffles. I got the chicken and waffles, and it was delicious. Fresh coffee with free refills. Would definitely go back.

Love that they offer vegan options! Wish they had a mindset of vegan and offer non vegan options. That way the grits, Brussels sprouts and etc would be vegan.

Underwhelming- maybe worst waffle I’ve had in a restaurant - Edit
Was looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately was underwhelmed with my food and might be the worst waffle I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It noticeably did not have flavor, as if it was just a plain waffle mix with water, instead of plant milk, vanilla extract, a sweetener and some cinnamon. I’ve had much better pancakes and waffles at other places and even homemade. In addition, this place does not serve hot lattes with a flavor of syrup like every coffee shop does. The coffee I had was only brewed with sugar and a tiny splash of oatmilk. So, if you like hot lattes with foam on top, this place doesn’t have that. They do have vegan alternatives for meat, dairy, and eggs as well as waffles and biscuits, but the waffle missing flavor is enough for me to say that this place could do a lot better to make their options more appealing. If you’re looking for a brunch spot with vegan options in Charlotte, I’d suggest Snooze A.M. eatery instead for their vegan pancakes and hot lattes.
