Delicious and Affordable - Edit
The service and food were incredible. It’s a family owned business with loads of vegan options. The owners were wonderfully warm and welcoming. We had a mix of vegan pakoras including a vegan haggis option, a delicious chat and vegan curry of the day with a vegan naan. I was in my element. Thoroughly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tasty and good vegan options - Edit
Had an Itison voucher which was a very good deal - cost us £30 but got £53 worth of food. Not sure I'd have paid full price though. Service was a bit slow at times, but servers were nice. The only item I wasn't keen on was the veg curry of the day, it was okra but had so much oil, I had to pour it off and it was several tablespoons worth.

The Road Less Travelled - Edit
Having discovered that Arthur’s Seat is at the top of a mountain and not in a quaint park in the middle of Edinburgh, we came back down the much easier, softer way than we had ascended. This led past Holyrood House onto Holyrood Road and past The Pakora. Awesome value, my Moonji Dahl with rice was just £9, compared to my omnivores’ £17 for their meal (which I gloated over!). Service was excellent and lovely background music completed the ambience. Highly recommended.

Wonderful authentic Indian food - Edit
We came upon this place by accident having descended from Arthur's seat. As lovers of Indian food we had to give it a try. A massive bonus is that we were able to have our dogs with us in the outside dining area and were also given a bowl of water for the dogs👍. A good start but things got much better. We took 3 courses and everything was vegan or vegetarian and delicious from start to finish. The big pot of chai was as good as the chai you get in India. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Many thanks to our delightful waitress Rashmi who shared her passion with us for Indian food and culture. If you love Indian food as we do The Pakora bar should be on your Edinburgh hit list.

My last visit
Read moreStarted at 4 star, then 3, now 2? A lack of attention and the value seems to have gone a little.
Had an okra special which said it was vegan,I asked, confirmed.
The curry came with two roti which were smeard.in ghee of butter and the curry was really only.
I don't think I will be back.
Asked for a vegan platter and they has no idea what I wanted. Asked for vegan options and it was like pulling teeth.
Had some pakora and it was like Accrington bricks.
Had friends visiting for the festival and I was mortified at pot this was.
Hate to give such a bad rating but hate bad food.

Ask for the vegan platter - Edit
It's not on the menu, but if you ask your server for the vegan selection they will be able to put together something for you. When I visited I had cauliflower, aubergine, mushroom, and of course veggie haggis! A great vegan friendly snack.

Went here with an omni friend, pescatarian and myself (vegan). the staff were lovely and friendly. Very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to pointing out what was vegan. He also recommended some dishes I might not necessarily have tried before - and boy were they delicious! The pakora platter between 3 was exceptional - everything was so yummy. Also BYOB so was great for going for a cheap night out. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend. Would especially recommend the vegan haggis pakora and cauliflower pakora.
