Yippie for HipPea! - Edit
My daughter and I tried the HipPea last Wednesday. We Had no problem with parking or ordering (wait time). It is pretty small but so cute! The owners/staff were so nice. We ordered the picnic box. The falafel were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pita bread was amazing. The box came with French fries and salad which were also good (fresh). My favorite sauce was the hot chili sauce! I will be back for more.

Why are there eggs - Edit
I used to really love this place. The falafel is still high-quality, but why on EARTH did they start selling eggs?? The sign now has to distinguish between vegetarian and vegan items (which is v, which is vg??). They also got rid of the two-person share box, which makes ordering our favorite thing more complicated and expensive.

Got the picnic box and it was perfect for the 2 of us. Pita is unreal. Falafel not dry, which is always my fear. Sauces are out of this world. Great value!

LOVE - Edit
They’re so kind. Sometimes when I’m waiting for my food, they will hand me a falafel 😩💘 and I love all the sauces you can serve yourself too... every bite is so amazingly scrumptious. And there’s a nice little 5-minute parking spot out front too for a quick pickup.

The HipPea is great! - Edit
Some of the best falafel I've had. I love the different combo options. Along with the french fries, it's a pretty oily meal to have, but it doesn't taste that way. I really enjoy this tiny place😊

This is my favorite vegan spot in Long Beach! I get the falafel pita and it’s a vegan’s comfort food dream come true. All I do is rant and rave about Hippea because everything is fresh, delicious, and the customer service is always welcoming💗

Really enjoyed this little place - Edit
A true hole in the wall pumping out great falafel and fries. Was offered a sample of the falafel upon entering and, even though I was going to order that anyways, really cemented by decision. A little lighter texture than many falafel I have had. I got it in the pita pocket and it made a great sandwich with sauce and lots of crispy vegetables. Fries were solid but it was really the falafel and hummus which I enjoyed the most.

Yes Falafel - Edit
Falafel places do not abound in LA or Long Beach. Most of my friends agree, we need more of them! The luck though, is that one of the best ever is Hippea! So good, both Falafels and Fries are the mega-real deal. Located by the awesome Art Theater, you can’t beat the urban feel of eating delicious street food before going to see an Art House movie. You can also order from the wine bar next door: Triple Yum!

The Best Falafel! - Edit
This place is amazing! The best falafel I have ever had! We love it! They're quick and fast. We've eaten there once and gotten it to go the rest. The food even tastes good if it's cold (after an hour drive up to Hollywood). Definitely get their sauces before you go, and do not go expecting to be able to get a seat. Their patio seating is limited, but don't be afraid to eat in your car. It's definitely an affordable bite to eat. We call ahead about 10 minutes before we get there and their portion sizes are really good. I get the large falafel plate and add a side of hummus!

Cute Place - Edit
I tried this place after my sister told me about it. They cook the falafels fresh so it was a bit of a wait. Once she had cooked a few, she offered them to me and other customer to munch on while we waited. Unfortunately, I found the falafel to be bland.
Read moreThe guy at the counter recommended I get the falafel sandwich but I went with the lunch box so I could try more things. It was definitely chickpea overload but I didn't mind. I liked the addition of chickpeas to the hummus and the salad. I tried dipping the falafels in the sauces they recommended - it helped somewhat with the blandness.
I didn't see soup on the menu but two people ordered it while I was waiting so I guess you just have to be in the know.
They didn't have any cookies when I went, so I'll have to go back. I'm willing to give them another try because they are so close to where I live.
Pros: Reasonable prices, Lot of different sauces to try
Cons: Falafel was bland, Parking can be an issue
