Not what it was - Edit
Significantly changed execution of menu. Pretty disappointing. Food not as good and no longer evokes memories of non-vegan culinary blockbusters (it’s not like a Big Mac anymore.) Also the interior has been disappointingly renovated to remove all atmosphere.

As vegan residents of San Jose we have our favorite places when we just need a night out. Happy Hooligans is one of 3 at the top of our list. Wings are to die for (although spicy enough my lame midwestern hubby can’t eat them). The Red Rooster burger is made in my dreams. Mac and cheese just ok. Reuben is ok - just like a real Reuben I suppose it’s super greasy. Taste was ok I just couldn’t handle grease. BBQ chicken plate is great. Husband gets chicken patty sandwich that I find bland but he of no spice loves. Cauliflower bite are really good but if we get them we fill up! The cheesecakes are really good - if anything tips us to Hooligans over other fave places it’s the cheesecakes and desserts. If only this place had a liquor license it would be perfect.

They have the best vegan cheese I've ever had. Had them before I went vegan last year and didn't even realize they were a vegan restaurant until I actually had went vegan months later.

This place just opened up - so happy to see a new vegan place in the area. They have a lot of options. I got the Fish Filet and my friend got the Buffalo Chick’n BLT. We also got the Nachos Grande and Oreo Cheesecake. It was all yummy, although try to eat it sooner than later because it will get soggy...
