Good vegan burger

We ate sugar all morning, so I was glad that we found this place at the airport! They make a yummy Beyond burger with some kind of very good sauce 😋

Quick, convenient breakfast

There's very few options in terminal 2 for vegans so appreciate this garden breakfast being on the menu. Could do with a plant based spread instead of dry toast. Portion wise it's pretty decent and even though a little pricey at airport prices, it's not extortionate.

Good breakfast

Decent breakfast - swap the egg out for more beans / avocado

Pros: Vegan swap

Cons: Starts with egg

Asked for a refund and walked……

Ordered the Plant Based Breakfast.
It arrived with a giant egg slapped on top so had to send it back.

Second time around there was no extra avocado in place of the egg (as the menu promised), no spread for the toast (I was never given the choice of white or granary as the menu promised) and the food was stone cold.

I returned it for a second time and was offered a refund which I took and ran.

Disappointing.
Avoid at all costs. Save your self time and energy and pop across to Starbucks instead.

Good food and overall experience (3.5/5 green stars)

The Fallow is in Terminal 2 of Dublin airport, after security and before US Preclearance. Sit down and order over the h’inturnet – it’s not that unusual, these days, for all those reviewers who dropped their monocles at the prospect. Actually I’m pretty sure it speeds up the whole process (glitches aside) and, sure enough, my order arrived in jig time. Servers were all very friendly on the two days I visited the place. On this occasion, I had a flat white, half a Guinness, and mac and cheese. Every item was delicious and it left me with a good taste in my mouth, leaving the auld sod. Reasonable prices too, for an airport restaurant. The mac and cheese was easily as good as a revered hipster mac-n-cheese spot in Oakland, California that charges more.
I’m also giving The Fallow 3.5/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following:
• A reasonable number of vegetarian and vegan options. Adopting a plant-based diet is the top thing you can do to mitigate climate change, deforestation, animal cruelty, and food scarcity. (I allow myself some cheese now and then and this dish made it feel worth it).
• Some ingredient sources are named, so there’s a reasonable amount of transparency.
• At the top of the menu is this statement: “Sustainability and ethical sourcing is at the heart of everything we do.” I appreciate that there’s a vegan Beyond Meat alternative to the beef burger and several other vegan or vegetarian options (risotto, mac-and-cheese, and a grains-and-greens salad that I might get next time). Just to be clear: the footprint of beef is so high that the sustainability rating for the restaurant would increase quite a bit if they ditched the beef. If every inhabitant of Earth ate 1 lb of beef per week (the US average) then greenhouse gas emissions would go up by a third!

Please join in and include a Green Stars rating with your own reviews!

Pros: Fast service, Spacious, Great view

Cons: Some people dislike the online ordering...

Food was cold

I was excited to get a real Irish vegan breakfast. I didn't get this in whole Ireland during my trip. You have to scan a barcode on the table to place your order.
Waiting time was 15 minutes. Unfortunately it was not hot anymore. Also the table was very dirty and I had to ask twice to please clean it. Taste was ok.

Dire options

The only breakfast is a full breakfast with usual tomato, mushrooms, Vegan sausage with spinach and avocado.

Toast on its own not available unless you purchase a non vegan croissant and they give you bread instead.

Great falafel and quinoa Salad

Visited the fallow in hope of something healthy(ish) as my only other option was Burger King. I was pleasantly surprised with their plant based salad.

Probably the stalest breakfast I’ve had

Food didn’t take long to come, and then it became quickly obvious why. Everything on the plate was either stale or undercooked. Would definitely avoid. Shame, because the contents of the vegan breakfast could have been nice. Metal chairs are awful, make sure you go around the back and use the comfier chairs.

Vegan Full Irish

I was so excited to find a vegan full Irish breakfast while waiting for my flight. My plate was piled up with potatoes, beans, toast, avocado, vegan sausage, sautéed spinach, roast tomato and a portobello mushroom. I couldn’t have been happier. Not too pricey either for airport food!

Pros: Good vegan breakfast

Decent Beetroot Burger

If you’ve been in Dublin Airport, Terminal 2 you’ll know that finding vegan options is almost impossible. This restaurant offers a vegan beetroot burger with vegan mayo and chips for €16. It’s not the best burger I’ve had but it’s quite decent. You can also add crushed avocados for €2.
