Turned up 1pm and asked a member of staff about eating outside. She directed me to the bar where I was to buy drinks initially. Upon receiving the drinks I asked for the menu only to be told I couldn’t eat unless I’d booked. I explained that the premise for ordering drinks was to eat. I told them that it was ridiculous whereupon the idiot man behind the bar had a strop about having ‘the foresight to book’. It was 1pm, there were acres of empty tables. A month previously we’d dined outside at a busier time WITHOUT booking. The lead waitress who I initially spoke to went on the defensive to obscure her error. I’ve been visiting here for years but won’t again until these muppets are gone. They’re in the wrong job as far as I’m concerned, held afloat by a good chef.
