Cheeky Gem - Edit
What a darling and cheeky place!
Read moreWe were visiting Lincoln City for a few days and the first day we were there, they were not open. It appears that during the off-season their days open are limited (so keep this in mind if this is one of your must-stops).
As we were leaving town for another city up north, we got to experience the Cheeky Cauldron. What an adorable Hogwarts themed place with some tasty delights. We got a pumpkin pastie and the vegetable Wellington pastie which both were very good. While there I had to try the Latte That Shall Not Be Named with oat milk and my boyfriend got the Dark Arts mocha, both were good and they actually got foam on my oat milk latte (very hard to find in this city).
After we placed our order, we were told to wait in Umbridge's office! As we walked into her office, it was exactly as I imagined, pink, glitz, and cats everywhere.
I'm sure we will be back through this area again and we do look forward to making a stop here. What a little gem.
Pros: Many vegan options, Good cup of coffee with several plant milks

Pumpkin pasties - Edit
This place is a hoot. It's little but decked out with magic, plus there's an outdoor space (complete with Dobby's grave). Their menu changes periodically but they usually offer a vegan version of most items. I've had the vegan cucumber cream cheese sandwich (not sure if they're still offering it) and the pumpkin pasties (which they told me were vegan by default at the time of my last visit, June 2022 - double check when you go, though). The pumpkin pasties were amazing. I've been intrigued by the idea of a pumpkin pasty since the first time I read Harry Potter, it was great to finally eat one.

Plastic Evanesco! - Edit
The menus in the restaurant are the same as online, but note most of the food can be made vegan. I ordered Seamus's Shepherd's Pie to go. It was good, but I was surprised and disappointed by all the plastic packaging. The pie was in an aluminum container with a plastic lid inside a plastic container inside a plastic bag. I also received disposable plastic utensils even though I said I didn't want them. The "crisps" are a small bag of Tim's potato chips.

Cons: unnecessary packaging and utensils

Due to so many shortages worldwide, it is very hard for restaurants to source earth friendly products right now. It is impossible to find the paper lids for those specific containers. Economic circumstances are dire for businesses right now. The shelves at restaurant supply stores are empty.

@MollyT You did not acknowledge that the order did not need a plastic container AND a plastic bag. Personally, I would have preferred neither, and just carried the aluminum container. You can save money and the environment by asking customers before providing multiple plastic products. In fact, I specifically requested no utensils, but was given them anyway.

Don’t like plastic? I don’t so we limit our take outs.

@in2insight We do limit takeout. We were also on vacation during the pandemic. Thanks for the uninsightful comment.
