Some vegan options - Edit
I haven’t had breakfast here, so my experience is limited to dinner. I had asparagus in which they left out the egg. It was tasty, but not filling enough for a full dish for this price. There’s a stuffed fox as decoration up the wall behind the bar. Beware of you are sensitive to such sights.

Read moreI went for breakfast with my parents, as it is quite close by my house and I’d heard some good stories about it.
I wasn’t disappointed. It has a British countryside feel, very cosy; perfect for a wintery Sunday morning breakfast.
The coffee (cappuccino with oat milk) was very very good; great roast and perfect foam and the orange juice was very sweet, which is not easy in Dutch winter, both of these cases indicating they know what they’re doing, but we’ve got to talk about the English breakfast, because damn what a great vegan dish they’ve come up with!! Very tasty, good portion and while it wasn’t cheap, it wasn’t expensive either.
And lastly the waiting staff was so great! Quick, attentive, very unlike Amsterdam lately.
I’m definitely coming back here, perfect for brunch!!!

Op een gezellige hoekje in Amsterdam Oost zit The Cottage. Het is er druk en als ik aan mijn Vegan Engelse ontbijt begin snap ik waarom: erg lekker!
