Delicious food & beautiful venue - Edit
The 2 vegan dishes I had were both top quality. Beautifully presented and great depth of flavor. The location is also right on the water and makes for a beautiful lunch or dinner. Dessert option also available but didnt look exciting

Cosy place with vegan options - Edit
At least 4-5 vegan options. I had the Moving Mountain burger with fries. And very nice fireplace!

Disappointing 😕 - Edit
The good thing is that they have a separate vegan menu, but: I ordered the Starter Superfood Salad - thought for £7.75 you‘d get a decent portion - and a crumble. The salad was tiny, with only one sad piece of the advertised sweet potato and no cauliflower. The server felt bad about this and checked with his supervisor, who claimed it was just as it should be. I then ordered a side of sweet potato and butternut squash in addition - this was when I was told that the kitchen was actually out of sweet potato. I then asked for broccoli instead of the potato, and got a little bowl of steamed flavourless veggies with none of the sauce/additons stated on the menu.

Pros: Lovely bar staff
Cons: Quality of food does not justify the price, Managers don’t care about customer satisfaction

Great vegan menu - Edit
Really impressed with the vegan menu at the Commodore, especially as they have a few choices of dessert (and not a fruit salad in sight!).
Read moreVisited around a month ago and had the burger and chocolate cake and both were delicious.
They don't seem to have plant milks available for tea/coffee though which is strange. Hopefully they will rectify this if enough of us give feedback to them about it.
Will definitely eat here again when back in Helensburgh.
Pros: Great choices available on vegan menu
Cons: No plant milk for tea/coffee
