Good bahn mi - Edit
The bahn mi was good. Real crunchy bread. Nice amount of veggies, tofu and sauce.

Nice ambiance - Edit
This is a really cute restaurant and i appreciate that the vegan options are labelled. My food was decent even though the pictures make it look kinda sad. It was expensive for what is is in my opinion

Yummy vegan food! - Edit
Plenty of vegan options that are well labeled. Offer tofu as a protein option which can also be added to salads or their fried rice bowl (which can also be made vegan)

Vegan burrito - Edit
I ordered a burrito, but unfortunately it wasn’t really to my taste. It had very basic ingredients like lettuce, rice, and beans, and I found the flavor a bit boring and not very exciting. Also, I forgot to take a photo.

In a place with few vegan options, the Blue Owl has a separate menu full of vegan items.

Definitely wasn’t Vegan… - Edit
I ordered the Vegan eggplant and it came with a chunk of beef in it. I took photos and contacted the restaurant but they didn’t seem bothered at all. Definitely would not eat here again and would not recommend it for vegans!!

Really awesome vegan fusion - Edit
The options were so so tasty and a nice take on Vietnamese, American, Mexican fusion almost. The flavors were yummy and I loved how it still felt healthy. Not just vegan junk food doused in oil. They also have a separate vegan menu Would 1000% come here again.

The “vegan owl” menu had lots of options. Definitely get the strawberry feta crostini. The grilled cheese was ok, but the eggplant sandwich was flavorful.

Good lunch spot - Edit
Went here for lunch with my family after visiting the MOXI Museum. They were very accommodating. My kids wanted grilled cheese sandwiches, but the vegan grilled cheese for grown-ups had basil, sun-dried tomatoes, and olives. So, they let me order one regular vegan grilled cheese for my husband and two kids vegan grilled cheese sandwiches without all the “weird stuff”! I got the vegan banh mi sandwich for myself. Sandwiches were great and came with side salads. Despite being very busy, the food was served pretty quickly. Good customer service. Next time, I hope to try the strawberry crostini.

I love the Nam Toc burrito, it's a burrito filled with fried rice, tofu, and veggies. It is delish! Cute restaurant too, nice place to hang out and get a beer. There are also vegan donuts and desserts in the display case next to the register, we got a chocolate donut that was amaaaazing!

When in SB at night 🌃 - Edit
Anytime I happen to be in SB after dark, I know I'm heading to blue owl. It's really great to have somewhere with delicious vegan options at night when most other things are closed. The vibe in here is so cool. Late night yummy food and great live music and beer.
Read moreI always get the fried rice with tofu. It's amazing! They serve it with red chili paste (I get it on the side because it's really spicy). Next time I'll try something else...maybe.

Beautiful music, decent food - Edit
We visited on a Friday night lately, and the gal who took our order was very helpful and friendly, even offering to divide our fried rice salad into two plates. The strawberry bruschetta was excellent, and we enjoyed the piano music playing. Although the salad was fresh, it was disappointingly bland. It almost seemed like they “forgot “ the dressing. But we were grateful to find vegan options during the Fiesta, especially the feta cheese.

We tasted the sweetheart wrap, the beet salad and the grilled cheese sandwich. They all had amazingly different flavor profiles, felt fresh and clean!! Not too heavy or salty. The meals were luxurious.

Fresh vegan options - Edit
Ok, I’ll admit it: this place has a plethora of vegan options, but I only order the fried rice every time I go (at least 5 times so far). It comes in 2 sizes and is packed with tofu, fresh veggies, and spice (be careful if you don’t like spicy food). I’m obsessed with this dish. I even recommend it to my carnivore friends about town and they confirm: it’s delicious!
