Freaking amazing - Edit
This was a great find for us, probably my fav place in/around Devonport. They are not short for vegan options, we were overwhelmed with choice! In the end we got roti (amazing), dumplings, black bean, satay and pad Thai. Everything was so delicious and such big portions as well. Don’t realise there was a seperate vegan menu but honestly, I didn’t have any problems ordering off the standard menu. Everything had vegan or vegan on request listed clearly and the wait staff had no problems understanding dietaries. Would recommend this place as a must go if in the area

Ok, I’ll do 4 as well - Edit
PRO TIP: Ask for the vegan menu rather than working through the main menu like we did and then discovering there is a specific vegan menu, don’t forget I hadn’t read any reviews on this place, we found it by accident.
Read moreI’m not sure why I’m so surprised because I normally do a bit of research before we go anywhere. This was another classic where we ended up here to look at the Big Platypus and to have a walk because its surroundings are lovely and inadvertently had a look at the menu ….. shut the front door, are you guys reading this menu as well, this will beat sandwiches.
So seperate menu, great range of options, friendly staff, pretty quick, nice outlook, indoor and outdoor seating and ticks allot of boxes.
We had Soft Tofu (gf), Vegan dumplings ( on the specials menu), Spicy Basil Stir Fry (gf), Tempura mushrooms (gf), Asian Greens (gf), Vegan Roti w/satay sauce, coconut rice (gf) and Stir Fried Noodles (gf). There were 4 of us and that was plenty of food.
Spicy basil, mushrooms and roti were standouts, roti especially as it had a little char on it and was very moorish.
Great staff, very friendly, prompt and attentive, no complaints and i would recommend dropping in here.
Pros: Seperate vegan menu (ask for it), Great options, friendly staff, Good parking, nice outlook
Cons: Nope

Incredible vegan menu!! - Edit
We’ve visited Thai imperial a couple of times now and have loved it each time! There’s a vegan menu you can request but there is also some vegan options on the general menu too. There are items such as the salt and pepper tofu, the zucchini fritters, the garlic rotti that comes with both a sweet chilli sauce and a super tasty satay sauce, as well as the curry puffs and the pumpkin soup. We most often get an assortment of these entrees to share so we can taste everything because we can never choose! We have always left full and happy, sharing 4-5 entrees among 2-3 people. The staff are always really friendly and accommodating, we have always felt very welcome. A lot of the vegan options are gluten free too which is great for some of my friends/family, it doesn’t taste any different to us and gives everyone more options! We would love to see a gluten free rotti! Great job to the staff at Thai imperial😄

Amazing - Edit
First time dining here and loved every bit of it! The atmosphere, attentive staff and wide-select vegan menu consisting of spring rolls, curry puffs, soft satay tofu, zucchini and cauliflower fritters, vegan stir fry’s and much more! Could not rate this place higher and would definitely make the Launceston-Latrobe trip again just for this!! Thank you Thai Imperial

Huge vegan menu now! - Edit
I avoided this place because they sponsor horse racing but they now have a MASSIVE vegan / veg / gluten free menu, they even have a vegan lunch menu special.
Read moreI had salt and pepper tofu starter with a chilli sauce - YUM and then I had a garlic roti with satay dipping sauce, also delicious. Another person in our party had a laksa and it was enough for two people.
Really nice place for dinner so I am rating it (and trying to forget about the horse racing stuff)
Pros: Massive menu, Delicious, Nice setting
Cons: Horse racing ties, serves meat

Try the Zucchini and Corn Fritters - Edit
Thai Imperial has a number of vegan options clearly marked. Vegan entrees include Thai Spring Rolls, Thai Curry Puffs, Soft Tofu & Mushroom Wonton Salad, Zucchini & corn fritters. Stirfry options include: Cashew, Satay, Spicy Basil, Garlic & Chilli, Sweet and Sour, Ginger, and their Heavenly stirfry. Highly recommend the Zucchini and Corn Fritters. Have uploaded a copy of the takeaway menu.
