Really good options! - Edit
Staff was very welcoming and friendly and offered to make any of the 3 vegetarian dishes vegan. I had the rice and it was really tasty!

Not convinced they know what vegan is… - Edit
There were two entree items labelled as vegan on the menu when we went. But they also list allergens, and one vegan option listed dairy and the other listed egg. We spoke to the waiter and asked if we could confirm they could be made vegan and they said ok, then they asked us if we wanted bread and we asked for it with olive oil. They brought us out the bread platter they bring everyone, which had meat, cheese, and butter on it! So my trust was a little broken. The two possibly (hopefully) vegan entrees were good, but very expensive for what they were. We were staying in the hotel and noticed many vegan options on the menus throughout the hotel actually contained non-vegan ingredients. So ask for confirmation when you order!

A good option - Edit
Myself and my partner ate here and both really enjoyed it. I had the vegan truffle spaghetti and the vegetable soup to start. My partner had the sweet potato gnocchi only….. All the food we experienced was delicious! The setting outside on the balcony was beautiful at night and there was a patio heater near our table to keep us both warm.
Read moreIt turns out it’s actually the hotel restaurant for the The Savoy Palace hotel across the street. We expected the prices to be quite steep as a result of this but, we were pleasantly surprised they weren’t.
The service was very good here and the portion sizes were more than enough!

Nice outside setting - Edit
Nice atmosphere, seating outside. Had soup and the spaghetti which I believe were the only vegan options. Tasted good!

Decent meal, big portion - Edit
I got the vegan main as a take away - truffled pasta with mushrooms and soymilk sauce. It tasted nice and was a good portion size, but nothing extraordinary. There is also a vegan soup of the day, which I didn't try. Vegan and vegetarian options were clearly labeled on the menu, and there were around 5 vegetarian dishes - could look like some of them could be made vegan (I didn't ask). It's more of a high end restaurant, so omni dishes are pretty expensive, but the veggie dishes were reasonably priced for what it was (15-17€). Service was fast, but they added a 10% tax/tip amount, which I have never experienced elsewhere in Funchal for takeaway.
