A little India in Arkansas

I had an incredible experience at Taj Mahal Indian Kitchen! The food transported me to India with its authentic and fresh flavors. As a vegan, I appreciated the attentiveness of our server, Kiran, who went above and beyond to cater to our dietary needs. A delightful dining experience that I would highly recommend!

Few Vegan Options

I mentioned that I was vegan when the waiter ask for our order. I was not sure if he understood exactly what vegan meant. I ordered the Veg Samosa and asked if they could make the Saag Paneer vegan, he said yes. I started thinking about it and decided I should clarify. I asked the waiter about the Saag, if it would indeed be Vegan. After several minutes of explaining what Vegan is, he stated that it was a dairy product. UGH. I ordered the Chana Marsala instead. I noticed only 4 (V) symbols on the menu, samosa, 2 entrees and 1 bread. I was told by another employee that they can not accommodate for additional vegan options. No, only if it has a (v), it’s vegan.

Pros: Samosa’s were really good., Chana Marsala was okay., It was not crowded at 1pm on a Thursday!

Cons: Waiter was not versed in Vegan., Few vegan options.

Go-to Indian spot

Love the variety of options here! Be sure to specify vegan when you order, and they will accommodate. You get to pick mild, medium, or spicy for your spice level. Get the vegetable samosas to start, and my favorite main dish is the Chana masala! The Baingan bartha is delicious too. They have a vegan naan option too, be sure to ask.

Pros: Variety of vegan options, Take-out or dine-in

Cons: Have to specify vegan
