The best! - Edit
Yes it's a small restaurant, but the vibes and food are authentic.
Read moreI had the soy milk miso ramen, but my friend had the truffle ramen and that was... wow.
Next time I will be trying that for sure!
A little expensive for Taiwan, but totally worth it for the experience, flavour and portion size.
Great flavours! No need for meat!
Some side dishes and drinks available
Pros: Great taste, Good value , Vibes
Cons: Small restaurant means waiting sometimes, A little pricy

Great ramen - Edit
The further south we went in Taiwan, the more Japanese influence we saw in the cuisine. This small ramen place felt very Japanese but vegan. Both the ramen and oden were excellent. It was my first time trying soy based ramen broth and I’m not sure if it’s a Taiwanese thing, but it was one of the best ramen broths I’ve had. The meat replacement was excellent and went very well with the rameb. I don’t think I’ve had tofu made to taste so much like oden before. Highly recommend getting the oden alongside the ramen. It was great that I could choose spiciness level as I have almost no tolerance to spicy food.

Delicious ramen and odeng - Edit
Came here because of the good review on Happy Cow and did not disappoint. When we came there were already 5 people waiting so we almost made the choice to go elsewhere, but we are glad we stayed. It went quite fast.
Read moreTo get seated first we had to tell what to eat, someone came and explained us what they have outside. There were two types of vegan ramen (miso-soy milk and soy sauce). We had the miso soy milk ramen and it was delicious, very tasty (I’m not a ramen expert). We also had a side of Odeng, which was very nice and it had like 8 different types of Odeng with their own flavour. Very delicious.
The place is a bit cramped and gets hot, for me personally wasnt part of the fun of the experience. But I’ll gladly pay that price for a nice meal.

Cool tiny little ramen spot. Seats about 7. Watch the lady make the meal. Friendly people. Tasty food. Yes we had to wait a bit but it’s a beautiful day and you can chat with other folks. Great experience!

Sorry, but not a Japanese Ramen - Edit
Yeah, the ambience is cool for those not used to a hole in the wall. A teeny-tiny shop with a queue, no real menu and you get called up into the mysterious den one by one. Just like Japan right?
Read moreNo.
While the broth was just OK, very average, not rich and not containing plenty of ingredients but still has enough umami, the noodles are just bad. Instant noodles curly type that you can't really suck like you do with a ramen. Even the tofu appetizer was not soft like in Japan. For 220 twd this is really overrated and overpriced, especially considering that the special 'ambience' comes with the price of barely being able to move.
Pros: Low quality ingredients, Stuffed, Expensive
Cons: Ambience?

Delicious and intimate - Edit
We loved the setup of this cozy restaurant. You can see them cooking, and the food is delicious! Try the cold tofu as a side, it was my favourite! You’ll probably have to queue but is worth the wait!

Quaint, clean and delicious - Edit
I got the cold tofu as a side and miso- sesame base as my ramen. The space fits 7 people at a time. The owner is very helpful and had an English menu ready on her phone. I’d happily eat another meal here.

Super small but super yummy - Edit
It is hard to find and just around the corner and yes in the evening most probably you need to wait but it’s absolutely worth it. Already while waiting they’ll take your order so once you get inside and get a seat you immediately get your soup. They have 6 different soups and 2 side dishes. 1 side dish is mixed bites in spicy sauce (spicy onde) and the other one is a cold cut tofu. Despite of other inputs they don’t use mick meats which is a bit plus for me. In the spicy onde there are different textures and versions of tofu and branched skin but no highly processed mock meat and in the soup there are only mushrooms and veggies. Super super yummy and absolute worth a visit! #Veganuary

Very Happy Find - Edit
The food was great and the restaurant itself was a great environment. The staff was helpful and accommodating. My Chinese is a bit rusty, but the staff helped me with my selections and we're patient. Highly recommend this place.

Tasty Ramen - Edit
I had just arrived and was recommended to try this place that apparently was very popular, as sometimes lines can be seen forming to order. It was a Tuesday around 7:30pm when I went, and it only had 4 people, no line waiting, so I lucked out! It is a small place, and only has about 7 seats. I ordered a soy ramen and what I think were fake meats, forgot the name of them, and both were incredible. I was going to come again the next day, but unfortunately we’re closed. The lady, which I think was the owner and cook, speaks English. Highly recommend!

Good ramen, had to queue - Edit
Good ramen, reasonable prices. Store has only limited seating, I was not fully convincing by the taste of my ramen, therefore I give "only" 4 stars.

Small eatery but absolutely delicious Japanese ramen - Edit
Place is small, no doubt. Only seat for seven customers at any one time. But the ramen is absolutely delicious. Noodles are cooked to perfection. Broth is flavourful. Generous with ingredients for a large bowl of ramen.

Little ramen restaurant - Edit
Nice experience, we had to queue up, maybe 15mins and the waitress showed us the menu, 6 different types of ramen and some sides. It was worth the waiting time. Food was quickly served after we got our places. Big portion of spicy oden and two spicy soy milk ramen.

Delicious ramen but expect a queue - Edit
Due to the small size of the place (only 7 seats) you can expect a queue. The menu is not available. Someone will come to you in the queue to tell you the menu. You then order. It comes in handy if you speak some Chinese. They have daily specials and sometimes some items are not available. The food itself is good. We had the soy milk tonkatsu and the fake meat was verrrrrryyyy good! Overall quite pricey for Taiwan standards but still worth it.

Worth the line up - Edit
There are only 7 seats in this small, 80-retro vegan ramen restaurant - but it's worth the investment of time to line up. The portions of the ramen are generous. If you're lookinh for an extensive menu, this is not the place; the night I went, they had two different ramen options, and two different appetizers. However, what they make, they make well.

Good vegan ramen in Tainan - Edit
Ordered cold tofu and ramen in traditional Taiwanese sauce and had the tofu first. Service was quick, only 7 seats inside but was worth the walk over. Everything tasted fresh and the owner speaks a little English.

Good ramen, but lacking in protein - Edit
Looking at the reviews on here, I can see someone else saying that if you know the place you know to order tofu with your ramen. I do not speak Chinese, there is no menu, so there was no way of my knowing that. So my comment remains that was no protein.
Read moreThere is also no menu. Once you sit down at the 6 person bar, the owner tells you there is miso, soy or soy milk ramen and you can pick between sesame or truffle sauce. You don't know what else is in it or how much it costs.
I don't like operating blindly like this, and with two bowls of ramen with no sides or drinks coming to $430NTD I consider it both opaque in pricing and expensive. The taste is nice, it is delicious, and I liked that the noodles were cooked firmly. But I like knowing what I'm getting to and knowing what options I have for extras. #Veganuary
Pros: Cosy , Firmly cooked noodles, Sesame and miso is a great combo
Cons: Prices aren't displayed, There is no menu, Expensive for what it is

Good food. - Edit
While not mind-blowing it was rewarding to find this place serving risk-free vegan food. There’s no menu, you get asked if you want the soup to be made from miso, soy sauce, or soy milk - or maybe any combination of those, I’m not sure, I asked for miso, and the owner seemed surprised “only miso?”
Read moreSoon you’ll be given a big bowl of noodles and veggies in your soup, including sprouts and seaweed. The vitamins are there.
Tip: if you want protein, ie tofu, you need to request this when you order. The locals know this. The outsiders like me miss out.
Pros: A good meal, At a good price, Eaten at a tiny Japan-style counter.

Nice ambience so so ramen - Edit
Enjoyed the chic retro style, but thought the ramen didn't live up to the hype. The noodles seemed like the packet type. The pieces of vegan meat were pretty good though.

I'm so happy to have found this place! I had a dark broth ramen. Maybe it was a kombu broth, not sure because my mom ordered it for me. It was a nice big bowl, and it came out pretty quick once I was inside. So delicious!

Delicious Soymilk Ramen - Edit
I've been visiting this place since 2018. You have to wait in line because there are only 7 seats total. On rare occasions they extend to the outside and add 5-7 more seats, but I still recommend waiting to sit indoors. The ambiance really ads to the meal experience. There used to be Rambo and other 70-80's paraphernalia, but they recently changed to like 80's boy bands.😡 I recommend the soymilk ramen, but don't order spicy because you can add your own level of spice. Also, you can add ground sesame. The little side dishes are so-so. I don't highly recommend them. Oh, just around the corner, next to the fruit shop, has soymilk brown sugar tea with grass jelly. So, you can get that while you wait for entry to the ramen restaurant.

Inconsistent and Malicious Exclusivity - Edit
Waited about 10 minutes in a line outside the restaurant before a staff member approached to take our order. It was about 8:30pm and we had already had a light meal so only wanted to taste a bowl of their famous vegan ramen. The staff member told us we had to order a minimum of 200NT each to go in, we said ok we'll get drinks, side dishes and a bowl of ramen to share. That seemed ok. 2 minutes later the staff member returned to say his boss had told him that the side dishes and drinks were not sufficient and that if we wanted to eat there we'd need to order 2 bowls of ramen. Please note that we could clearly see empty seats in the place, and there was no-one behind us in the queue at that point. We would not be able to finish 2 whole bowls - so this is clearly a place that is happy to waste food and treat its customers with zero respect. With an attitude like that who cares how good the ramen is. It is still just ramen...

Amazing Ramen - Edit
This Ramen was amazing! The staff only speak limited English however while I was waiting outside for room in the shop a staff member came out and took my order (and 3, other people's orders who were in line). I ordered the spicy mixed Ramen - Soy milk and miso base with chili. You only get around 30 minutes to eat as there is always a big line outside and only 7 or so seats inside. However it is worth the wait and a must eat when in Tainan.
