Vegan Shroom Bowl - Edit
Popped in over a weekend for a quick dinner takeout and was happy to see this sweetgreen location actually open compared to many of DTLA's establishments.
Read moreThe restaurant is a build-your-own bowl style spot and they have a couple of pre-designed options to select from for convenience. Although they advertises as a plant-forward, healthy spot, they only have a handful of fully plant-based options while the rest require modifications.
I went with their only fully vegan bowl, the Shroomami - a mix of roasted tofu, portobello mushrooms, veggies, wild rice, and almonds, tossed in a miso sesame ginger dressing. My bowl was served warm and it was a filling and satisfying tofu bowl. I also tried their side of sweet potatoes and these were fire as well.
If you're feeling healthy and want to indulge in a good meal for the heart, this is a good spot to check out.

Great mainstream salad place - Edit
Not your normal mainstream salad place either. All produce is delivered fresh each morning, so that means 90% is sourced locally. Also all their containers, cutlery and napkins are compostable, which is going quite a bit further than most vegan restaurants. I normally max out stars at 3 if a restaurant serves meat but sweetgreen gets four stars because they are really going the extra mile in environmentalism and everything is made to order right in front of you so it’s so easy to order a vegan salad customized to exactly what you like. They have a ton of vegan options I love like kalamata, quinoa, portobello and all the veggies. Ask which dressings are vegan before selecting.
