SUGO biedt vier verschillende opties voor vegan pizza. Geen van alle zijn ze echt goed. Op de meeste varianten was de topping karig, en de pizza daardoor wat droog. Ik was het deeg niet altijd geheel gaar of gerezen. De bolognaisepizza was wat mij betreft het best belegd en het meest smakelijk. Desondanks kom ik hier niet voor terug; elders (bij Vegitalian, bijvoorbeeld), is betere veganistische pizza te krijgen.

Junk food but ok vegan - Edit
There are five vegan pizzas to choose from, I tried mushroom & truffle and kebab karma. Both were remarkably lacking veg and it generally felt like pizza bread with lots of highly processed fats, very little natural ingredients. We really wanted some dessert but the only vegan option was chocolate pizza, which was just pizza bread with chocolate spread. I am not entirely convinced that it was really vegan as the staff at the counter was fumbling with a jar of Nutella but I was with friends and didn’t want to fuss too much. Either way it was just a dry piece of bread with a spread, hardly a nice dessert. The choice of drinks was very basic, unfortunately the only non-alcoholic beer was Heineken ☹️ the staff was very nice and there was small space to eat outside, although we were briefly harassed by a beggar. It wasn’t a bad experience but I am not likely to go again on account of the junk food character of the pizzas.

The SUGO chain is spreading over the Netherlands and this is the first branch in Utrecht which opened a few weeks ago.
Read moreThe staff is very friendly and regardless of passing by just before closing time, they didn't hesitate to take a break with cleaning up and serve us some pizza.
They had 3 vegan options and the mushroom was very flavourful and the dough quite airy. The pizza comes in squares and you can decide on the size.
Tip, ask them to cut the square in strips/pieces which will be easier to eat. My toppings fell off while eating ;)
Pros: The allow your own container for take away, Very fast: the pizza is ready and just needs to be, heated for 3min, Located close to Utrecht central
Cons: Bit too greasy for my liking
