This is a really nice place with a ton of vegan options on the menu. We really enjoyed our dinner here and went back the next day for some sandwiches to take with us. These were really nice as well! The staff is very friendly and the location is pretty. Would recommend, especially since Middelburg isn’t the most vegan friendly city.

We had the Seawheed-Burger with fries, a Bowl (name forgotten) and an extra fries with V-Mayo.
Burger was tasty, the bun was unfortunately quite hard and dry, probably an accident.
The Bowl was lovely arranged, healty with tasty ingredients (e.g. V-Chicken)

Restaurant in oude stationsrestauratie op station Middelburg. Leuke vegan gerechten op de kaart en niet duur. Ik had de vegan lemon chicken van seitan met witte rijst, groenten en salade. Flink bord vol voor 13,50 euro. Erg lekker, en ontzettend aardige dame in de bediening die haar werk duidelijk met veel plezier doet. Aanrader! Helaas zat ik zo vol dat ik geen ruimte meer had voor de vegan brownie als dessert.

At first I thought a place within the railway station would be uncomfortable and I was surprised to find a cosy, unique place instead! They really know what „vegan“ means and offer enough dishes to have a real choice, although much of their offer contains burger which isn‘t a real meal in my opinion...
Read moreI had a tomato soup with homemade bread (which was the healthiest bread I had in the Netherlands so far! Although it was really „soft“ compared to German bread which I really miss here!) and the vegan curry (-> check the photos). I liked both and I felt good and healthy afterwards (although there could have been more spices in it). It‘s fresh, „honest“ food.
They also offer vegan desserts and ice cream (for example: vegan Magnum Almond, Cornetto Nuts, Ben & Jerry‘s).
Pros: you have got a choice as a vegan, healthy, „honest“ food, nice athmosphere
Cons: non-vegan cookie served with the tea, too many of the options are burger related

Best Vegan food in Middelburg - Edit
My girlfriend and I love this place. Lots of vegan options that are very flavorful. Amazing use of seitan as a meat substitute. The chef is also really enthusiastic about veganism, occasionally coming to your table and exposing you to the latest Vegan ingredient he's been experimenting with! Super fun and the location is also super cozy in the old train station.

Amazing! So many vegan options. - Edit
Many, many great vegan food (and drink) options, like vegan sashimi, vegan tuna, vegan shrimp, vegan salmon. They use vegan cheeses in a lot of dishes. We had the vegan grilled cheese sandwich and it was delicious. Dinner is served all day, which is great because the dinner menu has the most options. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area!

We ate onion soup and two Dutch weedburgers. Nothing to complain about. Sympathetic service plus an inspiring setting in the train station.
The vegan home made ice cream was a bit less successful, this was rather a sorbet and not so thrilling to eat.
Thank you for putting so many sustainable and animal-friendly things on the menu.

We were very suprised to find so many vegan options on the menu in a 'station restaurant'. Very funny to order vegan gamba's in oil with garlic and lemon (there were no real gamba's although Stoom serves also meat and fish). The taste was good and so were the fries that came with them. I certainly will come back.

We found the stoom thanks to the happy cow app. It's a nice and cozy place that occupies a whole part of the station building. It's a nice huge space with high ceilings. They serve delicious vegetarian and vegan food beside of other dishes. Try the seaweed burger, made with locally grown seaweed!!! Very tasty!!!

Vegan Broodjes! - Edit
Van te voren even gebeld of ze vegan opties hadden en met verbazing hadden ze dat! Er werd verteld dat ze een gewoon stokbroodje met vegan kaas hadden en dat vond ik al heel wat! Toen ik eenmaal in de winkel stond vertelde de super aardige vrouw achter de kassa mij dat de eigenaar bezig was met een nieuw vegan kipkerrie broodje! Hij vroeg me erg vriendelijk of ik dit wou proeven en het was echt te gek! De kip kerrie is op basis van Seitan gemaakt samen met kerriepoeder en Veganmayonaise vertelde hij mij! Netjes komen vragen of het gesmaakt had en dat had het natuurlijk. Daarna kwam hij met een leuke verrassing dat de test kip kerrie die hij gemaakt had hij niet meer kon verkopen en ik het mee mocht nemen naar huis. Dus hij heeft het netjes ingesealed zodat ik het nog kon gebruiken. Al met al echt een te gekke zaak en zal hier nog heel vaak komen!
