Considering...

That in Palermo fully vegan restaurants are a chimera, I appreciate the effort. They try to create dishes with a touch of fantasy.

Excellent Food and Service

Really worth the little journey out of the city (15 minutes in a taxi) to visit this chilled and very tasty restaurant.

Very local in a nice neighbourhood and the majority of food is vegan. Vegetarians can have cheese.

The food is fresh, cooked with expertise and is award winning.

Very informal dining and a great selection of dishes and wines.

Highly recommended. We’re coming again tomorrow, lol!

Fine place in a residential neighborhood

It is a decent place with mostly vegetarian options, although you could veganise a lot of them... The beer was ridiculously expensive for a regular Palermo neighborhood. Still, a fine place to have a pleasant dinner.

Pros: Good pizza, Non-touristy neighborhood , Chill atmosphere

Cons: Some portions were quite small, Some dishes were pricey for such a simple place, Limited vegan options

Nice a bit quirky neighbourhood restaurant with home-style cooking

This place is a bit unexpected, far out in the middle of a residential neighbourhood between big apartment buildings, seemingly with mostly locals as guests. Service was good and friendly and the food was home-style. They also offer pizza with dough from a local wheat variety that I didn't try.

Super nice restaurant

Modest neighborhood restaurant serving innovative, vegan Italian cuisine. Comfortable and friendly, we felt the food was especially light and healthy -- light years past the stodgy old Italian standbys. We had lunch at an off hour, so the restaurant was to ourselves. I can't find anything to criticize about this restaurant, as our every request was cheerfully accommodated, and the food was both imaginative, well-prepared and delicious.

Pros: Friendly service, Excellent, healthful and delicious Italian food, Attractive premises

Cons: None

Delicious Italian food

The place is very quaint. I had the fresh pasta with tomato and basil, a typical dish from Sicily. Almost all the menu items were vegan-izable, you just have to let them know. The pistachio ice cream was wow. 3 huge scoops for very little. Recommended!

Relaxed atmosphere

Independent vegetarian cafe with a wide selection of vegan options. The atmosphere is relaxed and as it is located away from the central tourist area it feels like a real neighbourhood resturant.
Dinner doesn't start until 8pm but they made me a meal even though I was early. I enjoyed the mushroom burgers with homemade vegan mayo and shared a tasty mixed salad. There were vegan deserts too, plus organic Sicilian wine and soft drinks.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Relaxed atmosphere, Friendly and accommodating

A spinno viene U spinnu

Great discovery in Palermo!

Spinno is a little far from the historical centre of the city where we are staying at the moment, but it was well worth going there. It is not so easy to find a restaurant where people really care about what they are doing and put their soul into it, but Spinno is definitely the case!
Chiara is a great chef and a very friendly person, her food is tasty and healthy and the price is actually low for such quality.
We managed to try interesting and unique Sicilian dishes (the menu changes, but most of the dishes yesterday were vegan) and left the place feeling good and well fed. We're staying in Palermo for a couple more days and planning to visit Spinno again before we leave. It is the best food (and the healthiest) we've had in Sicily and I definitely recommend it to everyone!

Pros: excellent food, good value, friendly staff

A GREAT LITTLE CAFE

OK... It's not fine dining. Nor is it exactly ON the beaten track. But only s short taxi ride from the big posh centre of town is this lovely little, unpretentious, friendly, inexpensive cafe where they don't just speak vegetarian, they speak vegan too! And their English ain't so bad either. When we went, a local ladies knitting circle were at the next table, crotcheting away. I doubt they were Veggies... but they clearly liked the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. As did we. And the food. And, as our taxi driver on the way there had only taken us near and shrugged his shoulders in a gloriously Italian way as he dropped us... when we finished, they called us a very reasonably priced local cab who knew exactly where to come. Go there. Support it. Send your friends. They'll thank you!
