Really nice Indonesian food - Edit
Language barrier made the order very complicated, but the food was really good! The he ginger tea and the portion of rice were my favorite.

Quaint vegan eatery surrounded by rice - Edit
A very peaceful and relaxing location surrounded by rice fields at sunset made this visit extra special. The food itself was nice but nothing extra special. However compared to the food so far we have had in Indonesia definitely one of the better meals where the rice was extra special. The staff will help explain to you any questions about the meals you may have and give you any suggestions as well.

Little hideout with delicious food - Edit
Lots of vegan options to choose from. The juices they offer are also super tasty. They don’t have an English menu, but there’s a photo of every dish. Since everything is vegan, finding something you like is pretty easy. The owners were super friendly too!

Cozy all vegan with local feel - Edit
Cozy cute place with a local vibe to it. Lots to choose from (although they were sold out on the burgers). Small dishes but very cheap so order a few if you’re hungry.

Indonesian dishes made vegan - Edit
I am so glad being able to taste all the traditional dishes, adapted to fit a vegan diet. The place is also beautiful, a bit outside of all the noisy areas.

Vegan Indonesian sampler - Edit
Soma Yoga can be reached by a motor bike rental to and from Prambanan. It’s got a cozy outdoor atmosphere away from the busy street and adjacent to a field. It’s run by a nice woman who practices Quan Yin like the Loving Hut restauranteurs. However, she proudly offer Javanese instead of Chinese options of LH.
Read moreI would return again, but it did not have the same quality and flavor as other places I ate at in Yog. I ordered the Nasi Bakar (combo plate) and a Sesame soya broccoli. The flavors and textures didn’t impress me, but I felt satisfied with the meals.
Also note the staff doesn’t speak much English, so know Indonesian or bring a translation app.

Tasty traditional Javanese food - Edit
Although close to a busy road this restaurant is situated near a more quiet road next to a rice paddy. The food here was really delicious, the flavours were original and definitely different compared to other Indonesian food we have tried so far. The nasi bakar was excellent, the only thing I did not fully like were the bumbum skewers. The place is a little bit more expensive than other places because the portions are quite small. But for lunch it was perfect.

Authentic Indonesian food - Edit
Staff spoke little English, but were super helpful and more importantly the food was great. Little more pricey than our usual meals, and portion size was a little small (but I was starving going in!!! So maybe don’t read too much into that). A must if you’re in Yogyakarta.

Best Indonesian food - Edit
They have a wide choice of nice Indonesian meal. All vegan. Very cheap. We payed less than 7 euro for 3 meals plus 3 juices. Juices were pretty watery though. Also service doesn’t speak well English and the menu is also not in English. Luckily every item on the menu (except drinks) has a photo in the menu.

The most beautiful delicious authentic Indonesian Javanese Street food ever l - Edit
As British National married to an Indonesian wife of 13 years, you think you’ve tried the best of what Indonesia has to offer. And out of the blue out comes this humble and meek roadside hut tucked away in a side street that can be easily missed if not for keen eyes spotting a dimly lit signboard on the main road whilst driving the taxi driver nuts to find Theo entrance gap into the precinct. With only 2 small but very capable ladies running this humble abode, you are presented with a huge menu of Javanese staple street food... Veganised. Recognising our usual soul food dishes, we order what we know best. What comes out is pure magic. Flavours subtle and unique. Smells to stoke childhood memories and taste that is at par with “warungs” (road side food). The food is simply divine. A must visit to anyone coming to Yogyakarta. Even a non vegan. A full meal for 5 with leftovers, big tip and full stomachs... we paid £13.50GBP in total. If only such places existed in Europe. A must visit ! 10/10

This restaurant is very nice with great decoration. Well worth the half an hour walk to get there. Absolute great value for money. The food is delicious, the staff very friendly, even though they speak limited English. I definitely recommend going there even if it's a bit out of your way! Thank me later ;)

Good local food, excellent value - Edit
This place is actually quite close to our hotel so we came here for dinner. Not hard to find at all with the street sign. Staff was friendly but very little English. Ordering was easy with the well illustrated menu, but be prepared to whip out your translation app if you have even simple questions beyond what you can already see.
Read moreWe ordered a rice dish with four different fried items, mushroom satay, a tempeh side that came with a soup, and fried noodles. Everything was great, and we were even happier when we saw bill—only IDR 67,500 (USD ~5)!
The kicker was that they had no phones or taxi numbers and were unable to call us a cab. We ended up walking down the road to a nearby hotel and asking their front desk for help. So, make sure to have your return transportation arranged before you decide to eat here.
Pros: good food, cheap, nice staff
Cons: logistics to/from there, limited english
