Serves meat, vegan options available. Has a vegan menu which includes vegan nut loaf and vegan risotto, chik'n picatta, and a steamer basket. JUL 2015 REPORTED NO LONGER OFFERING VEGAN MENU AND VEG IS LIMITED. REMOVED.
I suppose the owners read the previous comments and are changing some things. They are getting rid of Gardien meats, which are quite pricey. I had the mushroom risotto. It was a large portion and I had left-overs. The staff was friendly, although I don't think my server knew the difference about vegan options. Either way, I was full and happy when I left.
The dishes are on the pricier end.
I was visiting my omnivore parents, and my omnivore brother was with me, so I figured Snappers sounded appropriate for all of us. It was pretty good. My only complaint is the long-ish wait to be seated and then the long-ish wait to order and to get our food, as the place was crazy busy!
Food: 8. I love that all of the vegetarian options are vegan. There is a section devoted to the vegan options, and in the appetizer section the vegan options are clearly labeled. There are junk food type options (such as "chicken" fingers and burgers), healthy options (such as salads and quinoa), and gourmet type options (such as risotto and "chicken" piccata). I felt like going for a healthier and gourmet type option, so I went with the nut loaf, which came with mashed potatoes topped with sage gravy and a side of steamed broccoli. The nut loaf was not as good as I had hoped, as it had a sort of smoky taste to it in my opinion, but I loved the potatoes and gravy! The broccoli was rather boring... it would have been nice to have garlic or lemon juice or something on it for flavoring. I was too full to try dessert, but they had both a vegan sorbet and a vegan cake. Overall, I was quite impressed that a seafood restaurant had so many vegan options. And by the way, the omnivores enjoyed their food very much, too.
Price: 6. It's a bit pricey, especially given that they use Gardein for a lot of the mock meat dishes (meaning you can get the Gardein cheaper in grocery stores).
Atmosphere: 6. It's sort of a typical casual seafood restaurant, I guess. I did not like how crowded it was, especially since it was a Tuesday night when I went!
Staff: 8. Not particularly friendly or unfriendly.
