A mix of Italian and local dishes. Friendly owner.

Stayed at a hotel nearby. On the first attempted visit, the door was locked on a weekday evening and the listed phone didn't answer. Disappointed that this was the only option listed on Happy Cow in that part of town we left.

On another occasion, we did have a dinner there with a colleague. The place isn't big and is quiet (looks like the turnover had been hit by the pandemic and hasn't fully recovered yet).

The owner/waiter is very friendly and speaks pretty good English - recommended the best options in their menu and put his best for forward to make a couple of tasty vegan dishes that weren't on the menu.

BYOB is fine for a small corkage fee.

Not a Michelin worthy, centrally-located or trendy pace but, overall, one of the most pleasant dining experiences in Tashkent (where vegan options are generally very limited).

Good, but limited choice

Just a few minutes from our hotel Navruz. Limited vegetarian menu. We chose the pumpkin manti (dumplings) and the pasta, they were very tasteful. We were there on 28/08

Pros: Good food, Friendly waiter

Limited vegan options, but hey, there are vegan options!

Siesta is a bistro-style restaurant with a pleasant dining room and an Italian-inspired menu. There are several lacto-vegetarian options and, while there isn't much on the menu for vegans, they speak English well enough to work something out.

After some discussion with my friendly server (whose English was quite good), I decided to order the pasta arrabiatta and a side of grilled veggies. As it turned out, the pasta I was served wasn't "arrabiatta" at all (there was no detectable chili), but it was perfectly fine once I mixed my side of grilled veggies into it and added a bit of salt and pepper. They serve a good fresh carrot juice, too.

Most travelers might not make it this far north in Tashkent, and there isn't much to recommend a special trip, but if you're in the area it's a safe option for a reasonable veg meal.

Pros: Willing to accommodate vegans

Cons: Serves meat, vegan options require some discussion
