Seed

I ate there tonight and was totally disappointed. The location was in a "seedy" area of New Orleans. While waiting to be seated, we went to the bar for a glass of wine and were ignored by the bartender. We were finally seated in fold out chairs. The ambience was stifling and very loud. The food was less than expected. I will likely never go back.

Good-if-overpriced food, awful service

As a vegan visiting New Orleans, I assumed I'd wind up eating here multiple times- that was the case. While the food was pretty good (though brunch was way better than dinner), I can't in good conscience recommend going. If you're going to eat at Seed, get it delivered by Uber Eats or Waitr- don't bother going in. The service was among the worst I've ever experienced.

We went, without reservations, on Sunday night. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait- fine. But when we reach 45 minutes, there are numerous empty tables, and parties also without reservations are being seated before us, that's problematic.

We ordered a mix of dishes- the southern-fried tofu po'boy, nachos, nuggets, artichoke cakes, and a few more. The po'boy was dry and tasteless; the nachos were soggy. The main problem: it took over 90 minutes to get our food with nary a word of concern or apology from the waitress. We told her we'd be happy to get the food as it was ready. Having been seated at 8 pm, we didn't get our first dish - the nachos - until 9:36 pm, when the waitress told us that they were all that were ready. She also deftly avoided our table the entire time between dropping off our drinks around 30 minutes after ordering them and then the food an hour later. Total lack of service.

We saw other parties who ordered the same things (we were so hungry that we stared at every single dish to be brought past our table) got their po'boys and nachos and nuggets way before us. We thought about asking to get the dishes wrapped up to go, but that would probably take another hour.

She didn't even blink when we asked for a discount at the end of the meal, saying that she'd been giving out free desserts and drinks all night because of the awful service. All she said was that the manager was out of town, as if that excuses a 90-minute wait for food. All three of us at the table have worked in the service industry and know that slow food is rarely, if ever, the fault of the waitstaff- however, it's just as crappy to completely ignore your table in the meantime and not offer any explanation.

Therefore: good vegan food, but get it delivered.

Let down😒

Waited 15 mins before being acknowledged by a staff member. Seated at a dirty table and ordered drinks which came half an hour later. Staff were quite rude when explaining why our order took a full hour after the drinks to come out and one of the dishes was stone cold. Totally understand that restaurants can get busy but felt quite neglected as a customer here. Massively disappointed as I was really excited to try he food here! To top it all off my boyfriend spent the next day in bed recovering from food poisoning so we essentially lost a day of our holiday.

Pros: Full vegan options , Nice atmosphere , Traditional cuisine

Cons: Poor service, Cold food, Rude staff
