Beautiful restaurant with some veg options - Edit
There are many possibilities with tofu. We had fried vegetables with tofu in garlic sauce and jasmin rice, very good taste, definitelly recomended!

Pricey and average - Edit
They were able to adapt some foods to vegan like the noodles and the fried rices and the curries. The food was good but not worth the amount paid.

Good food but expensive - Edit
Items on the menu aren't labelled as vegan but the staff were very helpful and talked us through which dishes could be made vegan. Our started was quite boring- chunks of marinated tofu with a sauce but our mains were really good. I did think it was quite pricey for what we had

Outstanding Thai Food - Edit
Our food here was delicious! We each got a salad and shared a rice noodle, veg, and tofu dish. The flavor and spice level was absolutely perfect, one of my favorite Thai dishes I’ve had anywhere! The salad was also very tasty. We split the main dish to help with cost and felt plenty satisfied, but I could see where this restaurant could get expensive. That said, I have felt the price wasn’t too far off of a lot of the food in the area. And the service fees and tax are also on par with the area. My only negative was that not many appetizers could be made vegan due to eggs.

Good food but overpriced - Edit
Green curry and noodle dish very tasty. We were there in happy hour and each had 2 passion fruit bellinis which were very nice. These (at their reduced price) and a main course each for 2 of us (no starters) came to $72 which was quite a shock. 13% tax and 10% service added on. First time we had seen tax added on to a meal price in Costa Rica so be aware what you are spending.

Great Thai - Edit
I really enjoyed eating here. We came during happy hour so it was very slow. The views of the ocean and jungle were very peaceful. While sitting we saw two scarlet macaws fly by.

Delicious Thai food - Edit
There were a handful of nice looking vegan options on the menu, but the staff were also very accommodating to making other meat dishes vegan too, so plenty of choice! There were also 2 vegan desserts available which is always a bonus. All in all, delicious food, nice setting and great service.

Solid Thai food - Edit
We had a nice Thai dinner here. Deep fried spring rolls were okay. Nothing special but tasty nonetheless. Hard to go wrong with deep fry. Green Thai Currie with tofu was delicious as was the stir fry. #Veganuary

This place deserves 5 stars - Edit
Best food around. Don't bother with the other options they are all sub par. Many vegan options, just ask what they can make. Run!

Very good food - not cheap - Edit
Loved the food here, honestly couldn’t fault it. The waiter was also super nice and friendly. Our bill came to $60 for 3 starters and 2 mains but I would say the food was a 9 or 10/10. I don’t mind paying for good food, and they were very knowledgeable about veganism. Wish it was cheaper but will still probably go back.

Exquisite food but way too pricey - Edit
Really nothing to complain about the quality of the meals (vegan), but it's such a disappointment to pay, for example, more than $5 for spring rolls and see coming two little ones. Other meals still very tasty and well made but the price tho..

Good place - Edit
Waiters know what’s vegan and not vegan. We got the pad see ew, veggie delight, corn fritters, po pia tod. Came out to $48.45. We’re from NYC so we’re used to these kind of prices. But the opinion that it’s outrageously expensive don’t hold up depending where you’re from and what you order.
Read moreRice was cooked well. Noodles were great. Garlic sauce was really good, could hold up in NYC!! Bean curd was excellent. Corn fritters were so good with the sauce it comes with. Happily surprised a Thai place in Costa Rica is good. I’d come back.
Pros: knowledgable staff, decent options and prices, great view/atmosphere
Cons: Entrees might take 20+ minutes

In Manuel Antonio at moment and went to this restaurant but we were told quite emphatically that the corn fritters are not vegan. We did, however have a great meal There and are returning tonight .

Excellent but pricey - Edit
My daughter loves Asian food so we went to Samui Thai while in CR. We were not expecting much (Thai food in Costa Rica?) but the food was excellent. More than half of the menu is vegetarian and can be made vegan. The flavors were super authentic and the service was excellent. Although pricey, we thought it was worth it. I wanted to go back every night but the group I was with wanted to try other places.

Overpriced and tasteless - Edit
I ordered a vegan gluten-free Tom Kha Kai. I received a bowl of hot water with a dash of coconut milk and chopped lettuce! I then add a vegetable curry, which didn't taste like much. We were 2 people, we had a couple of Happy-hour cocktails, one shared entree (the lettuce soup) and two dishes for a total of 74 dollars! Ok, the view was great!

Great food but pricey - Edit
Great staff, very friendly. We came at happy hour and had 2 4 1 mimosas. Ordered Thai salad, crispy and red curry. All delicious but that came to $60 USD. Hmmmm that’s a bit much. Food was great though. Location is lovely, as long as you get a seat near the sea view.

Great food. Very helpful - Edit
Will happily tell you what can be made vegan. Drinks are delicious, I had the hibiscus mojito. I ordered the red curry with tofu and it was very good. I eat a lot of Thai food and this holds up to my NYC standards. The only reason for the 4 stars is the prices. Pretty ridiculous.

Beautiful View! - Edit
If you’re looking for a really tasty upscale meal in Monte Verde I recommend Samui. The staff are knowledgeable about what vegan means and the menu denotes most of the vegan options aside from some appetizers which are vegan friendly but not marked. We really enjoyed watching the sunset on their beautiful deck overlooking the forest and water.
