Do not miss Samudra Govindas -- whether or not you eat/don't eat meat. Humble setting, amazing food! - Edit

After a day of walking around Cartagena and seeing mostly questionable tourist traps, it was a relief to find Samudra Govindas. It's off the beating path, a gem, perched on the second floor surrounded by other low-buildings. We got a perfect balcony table overlooking the relatively quiet street, and open to the beautiful blue sky. Our warm wait staff, was welcoming without being pushy. We had the burger (which was AMAZING), the daily plate, which was diverse, fresh and tasty, and a vegan hot dog for our fussy 5-year old, who LOVED it -- the burger and hot dog were served on fresh baked bread and homemade French fries! The price was beyond reasonable, $5 per person -- we live in New York City, and a meal this interesting and fresh could easily have run $20+ per. Leave the tourists and eat at a fresh place where real locals go: Samudra Govindas!

Pros: Flavorful, beautiful, and a delight with each bite, Authentic, and unpretentious. Very warm service., No need to rush; enjoy the atmosphere and view.

Cons: Fast food, it isn't. But that's not a bad thing, Didn't find anything to dry hands with in restroom, That last "con" was a stretch and quickly remedied

Absolute must-go in Cartagena! - Edit

Ate together with two others two burgers and a "meat" dish with plátano, shared a mix of "sausages" and "bacon". Everything on top! Our favorite were the burgers with avocado!
An absolute must-go in Cartagena!

Great food, lovely atmosphere - Edit

The best vegan food that I’ve tried in Cartagena. Has a health lunch set menu but also offers vegan fast food. I had a hotdog and chips with vegan cheese, a rare find in Colombia! The owner was very friendly and accommodating

Pros: Great food options

So lovely! - Edit

Walking into this space, I felt like coming home. Other than the wonderful fruits, I was struggling to find much quality or nourishing food in Colombia. And I missed being around people who care. And the people here really care and it warms my heart. They had beautiful vegan murals in the wall in all the rooms....you can stay here! I definitely would next time I go to Cartagena .
I came for lunch which was a simple set meal of soup, rice, beans, fried plantains and salad. It was good and basic. They told me for dinner they serve a veggie burger and a hot dog that day with house made vegan cheese that must be amazing cos they were really excited about it.
Go try it out and enjoy their little sanctuary!

Pros: passionate friendly vegans!, amazing vibe, cheap

Cons: only a set menu

Two thumbs up - Edit

My non vegan boyfriend and I looked this place up and agreed to go here on a Saturday night while vacationing in Cartagena.
They made us delicious fresh juices of Maraya and one of LULU...the Maraya fruit is sweeter, the lulu is a little more citrus and tangy. Both were delicious. We also had the rice plate with lentils which they make to mimic ground meat. With a side of cucumber salad and strips of yuca. We were also brought the celery soup. It’s a split-pea style soup, very delicious. My boyfriend ate everything, enjoyed I️t a lot. And i of course enjoyed I️t because not only was nothing dead on my plate but because I️t truly was a delicious, wholesome, and home made style dinner.
Expect to feel as though you are at your hippie vibe uncles and aunties place for a great dinner, cause that’s what the ambiance feels like.
I definitely recommend.

SUPER RICO!!!! - Edit

I really enjoyed this place. Our server (possibly the owner) was charming and very helpful. They have several options but no menus. So be prepared to just say “sure, that one!” Especially if you don’t speak much Spanish haha. I was surprised by the juice. It came out frothy in a giant beer glass, a huge serving and very refreshing. They have a few balconies with a nice view so dinner here once it cooled down was wonderful. Oh and you can’t beat the price. Highly recommend :)

I was excited to find this place in Cartagena. The food was good and incredibly cheap. They also arranged for us to take a yoga class with a private instructor.
