Enjoyable experience - Edit
Making our own Okonomiyaki was fun! The vegan items were clearly labelled, we got a vegetarian sauce and the vegan Bonito flakes. The staff was forthcoming. The ventilation is okay, so if you mind the smell of meat being cooked I'd suggest another place.

Fun BBQ cooking - Edit
This was a cool experience cooking your own food on a BBQ. Tasted nice but was a light meal, left me feeling hungry and hour later.

We had a good experience when we visited in June 2026 and can't confirm the negative reviews based on our own visit. Vegan options were clearly marked as such, and we were even brought a vegan version of bonito flakes made from soy (based on the label). Of course I can't know for certain what went into the batter without watching them prepare it, but there was nothing to indicate to us that what was claimed to be vegan might not have been so. We went well after lunch time and before dinner during the afternoon, and the place was empty except for us, so no smoke etc. as reported by other reviewers. Preparing our own okonomiyaki at the table was a fun experience.

Sie haben sowohl vegane als auch vegetarische Varianten. Nun haben einige hier in den Rezensionen mitgeteilt, dass sie als Veganer trotzdem Ei im Essen hatten. Das kann ich nicht beurteilen. Unser vegetarisches Okonomiyaki hat prima geschmeckt, Service war ebenfalls prima.

I can't verify the negative comments at all. As of September 2025 the mobile QR menu is clearly labelled with vegan options and the staff even handed out a separate print menu with vegetarian and vegan options when we told them that we were vegan. They brought out extra okonomiyaki sauce for vegans and vegetarians with our order. Everything we received was clearly vegan. Only pain point is the lack of vegan mayo, but oh well.

They DO NOT understand what vegan means, they have fish eggs and egg labeled as vegan. 😕 I literally ordered thinking it’s going to be vegan egg because it was labeled as so and they brought me a raw egg on top…Plus the staff was so RUDE, throwing pay check at us telling us to pay before we even got to see our food. And while we were still eating the same staff told us they are closing and we need to chew quicker to leave. WTF experience, not vegan friendly, false labels, rude staff. It’s horrible. And then you have to pay 2200 to prepare food yourself with 1 spoon of batter. No vegan sauce in sight as well. I am sorry but this place is not vegan friendly, horrible experience…The only thing that didn’t make me leave is cause my friend was hungry😡

They have “vegan” labeled on their menu and continue to give meals with eggs and fish stock. They do NOT understand what vegan means and not even quite what vegetarian is either give the use of fish stock.
Read moreI have eaten what I have with a weary mind, certainly after seeing the reviews that already warned me from this, but I was here with friends so I couldn’t walk out. Otherwise I would’ve gone and found something else. I did send it back to get the egg out and had to take out the fish stock myself. But I feel little comfort in what I have eaten as well.
So, even if the menu says vegan, it is NOT. The vegetarian menu specified that the noodles “contained eggs” so it’s quite paradoxical that their vegan dishes are such a chaotic mix of both meat (fish stock) and egg.

Good food, and fun—but NOT GOOD FOR VEGANS - Edit
The vegan options here are simply lacking and I fear many people who have eaten here and posted pictures consumed animal products without intending to. They don't have a vegan okonomiyaki sauce, though they do have vegan mayo if you ask. No egg replacement, you just go without. It was fun to cook for myself but I really felt Zen in Shinjuku was much better for vegan okonomiyaki. Didn't really fill me up, and a bit of a language barrier.

Yummy Okonomiyaki! It was a bit hard to mix the ingredients before cooking the okonomiyaki. Make sure to specify no egg and no fish stock. I don't know how through they clean between each customer but it was a good experience none the less.

Ik heb ervoor gekozen de okonomiyaki zelf samen te stellen. Let op: als je voor zelf samenstellen kiest heb je alleen de optie voor beslag met visboulion. Dit vond ik niet erg. Mocht je hier wel moeite mee hebben bieden ze ook een al samengestelde vegetarisch of zelfs vegan versie aan.
