Comida Vegana Deliciosa en el Centro de Miraflores - Edit
He ido tres veces a Sabor y Vida y cada vez me gusta mas y mas. Averigüe en la pagina de facebook antes de ir para ver el menú del día! La comida siempre esta buenasa y te llena. Los anticuchos veganos son increibles (pero a veces muy salados)!

basic but great! - Edit
Dont get confused by the a bit shabby atmosphere. Tasty peruvian veggie dishes! I just tried the vegan ceviche, totally authentic - no need to go for the fishy version!
No high end place, a basic "comedor", no tourists, authentic and friendly!

Good and cheap - Edit
I ate there many times, and I have nothing to complain for. Compared to the other restaurants in the area, the food is quite good (enough) and the price reasonable (even though you may find cheaper). They change the set menu everyday (3 options for the starters, 3 options for the main course), and the menu also includes a beverage, a dessert and bread, for 11 soles (12 soles on Sunday).
This place is really a good option to get people to discover typical Peruvian food in its vegetarian/vegan option, so I brought family and friends there in order to make them taste classics like the ceviche, the tamal o the carapulcra.
There's usually at least one vegan option, and you can always ask for a vegan one (when possible). The waitresses and the boss are very friendly (well, compare to the usual service in this part of Lima) and the atmosphere is nice for a comedor.
Portions are well served and usually the food is good, although they use a little too much TSP to my opinion. Also, I'm not fond of the bread they serve, and the dessert is often something like the mazamorra morada, which I don't really like.
Pros: Typical Peruvian food (veg), Quite cheap
Cons: Sometimes flavourless

Good & cheap vegan Peruvian food - Edit
In Peru, lots of businesses close on Sundays, so props to them for staying open even though they do charge a little more on said day (12 soles). Like many other places, they offer a daily set lunch that includes bread, a drink, an appetizer, a main course, and a simple dessert. A ton of food for merely US$4. They have a regular menu as well where you can order a la carte if you're so inclined. We got two different sets and had a soup, a vegan ceviche, a lomo saltado with seitan, and another seitan dish in red sauce. Food was good, service was fast, and we left happy. I just wished they had brown rice instead of white. Also, as the previous reviewer pointed out, you do get loads of carbs in one sitting. But, to be fair, it just seems to be how Peruvian food is like in general. It's certainly not something that's specific to this place.
Pros: great value, open sundays
Cons: white rice

Average food - Edit
The price is 11 soles for the set meal Monday through Saturday, and 12 soles on Sunday. This is a good place for foreigners because there is a display of the food
just before you enter the restaurant. The items on the top shelf are the first plate, and the items on the bottom shelf are the second plate. You can just point to what you want, in case you don't speak Spanish. The set meal includes one plate from each of the 2 shelves, plus a fruit drink and a simple dessert. The customer service here is great. The food is average, but in my opinion there are way too many carbs on nearly every plate (lots of corn, yuca, potatoes, rice). You usually get both rice and potatoes with every meal, and I would prefer more variety of non-starchy vegetables (such as carrots, broccoli, celery, etc.) There are about 25 tables here, so there's always a place to sit, even at rush hour. A good thing here is that if you eat lunch late (after 230pm for instance), they will still have set meals available, where the other veggie places will have already run out. Also, they have the set meal available on Sunday. The other places in town (if they are open) tend to have a very simple meal on Sunday, or you must order a la carte, which is more expensive. To find the restaurant, just walk west on Ave. Pardo, and when you see the LAN Airlines building, turn left for a block. The building is painted green. Very convenient to the tourist area in the Miraflores neighborhood.

Healthy, Filling, Inexpensive - Edit
The set menu is only 10 soles as of May 2013 and includes choice of 3 appetizers, choice of 3 mains, bread, dessert, and a drink; quite a good deal. The dishes are healthy and filling, all the appetizers being based on vegetables and all the mains (today) including soy protein, vegetables, and rice or pasta. I was pleasantly surprised that the juice/herb drink wasn't all sugar, a rare find! That made me feel like they had customers' health in mind.
The place is calm, casual and positive, with quick service. Enjoyable and would go back on a daily basis!
Pros: Healthy and filling, Inexpensive, Pleasant environment
Cons: I don't believe there are other choices

nice juice - Edit
Fruit juice (melon) was fresh and delicious! Also had a fruit salad which was good except for one very floury apple. Nice decor with fresh flowers. Rest of the menu looked enticing.

Just like Grandma would make... - Edit
Really great value and service. The food tasted really good even if the decor, place and type of food had a 'dated' feel.
A drink, fruit salad, large starter and main course for only 9 soles. Was more than I could comfortably eat. I my grandmother had been a vegan peruvian I could imagine the food would have been just like this. A hearty meal in the true sense. Great.

quirky gem in Miraflores - Edit
This is a great little place! Located just a few blocks from Almazen. Lots of Lima quirkiness going on here, it's in a funky old house with more character than most places in Miraflores. Had some great Chinese rice, very nice veg ceviche, and a few other dishes here, never went wrong. Atmosphere was straight up 70's (including the disco they were playing). Arrive before 5.
Pros: hearty, quirky, fun
Cons: lacking flair, closes early

Good food and good price! - Edit
This was our first vegetarian experience in Peru and it was overall very positive. The food was good and was one of the few places we actually got to eat tofu as opposed to the soy meat (which is really wheat gluten) that proliferates everywhere else. The dishes were flavourful adaptations of traditional Peruvian staples and very delicious. The atmosphere is calm and quiet and the service was good.
Pros: Good food, Good value, Nice people

decent food - Edit
The carne de soya was really good. I agree with the previous review that there are too many starch products on the plate. Though they were made well. The staff/owner was very friendly and served me even though I came after hours.
