a lot of vegan options - Edit
We had the vegan cheese platter especially the „hard“ cheese tasted exactly the same as the non-vegan version. Then we had the gnocchi and the culurgiones, that were also good.

Best in Sardegna so far! - Edit
We were satisfied in all aspects having dinner in this restaurant.
Read moreFirst of all: open on mondays and we even got a place without reservation. Second the restaurant is very nice and welcoming and so are ALL OF THE STAFF.
There’s is this real mouthwatering vegan section of the menu so we had light difficulties deciding what to take. In the end we went for the pizza veghu and the Culurgiones vegan. And after that even for the poker vegan (selection of 4(!) vegan deserts. And it was all so delicious; they not only use vegan “mozzarella style cheese” on the pizza, they also put different types of other vegan cheezes (like Gorgonzola, Feta, Pecorino ecc) on top. Simply delicious and fully recommended!

Absolutely delicious - Edit
Absolutely delicious, we had the vegan pizza and the vegan tiramisu take away with Sardinian fruit as a gift. The vegan dishes are clearly labelled and there is a good selection. We will definitely be trying more.

Great vegan food and great views - Edit
Great restaurant with wonderful views, friendly staff and a separate vegan menu with plenty of diverse options. We shared a cheese platter, culurgiones and gnocchi. All three were very good.

Great experience - Edit
Gorgeous location, separate vegan menu with lots of options. I had the vegan tapas which included vegan cheeses and dips, stuffed zucchini and eggplant and various other little dishes: great portion sizes and delicious. I also got to taste the vegan version of typical sardinian dishes such as the vegan culurgiones and the sweet ravioli with almond ricotta, which were great as well!

Buon pranzo vegan - Edit
Sono stata davvero contenta di poter mangiare vegano in un posto che normalmente non proporrebbe un menù di questo tipo.

Vegan gastronomy reinventing local food - Edit
We loved the food here! It's quite expensive but totally worth it to try local staples reinvented in a vegan way. We had the vegan cheese platter with a selection of pecorino, ricotta, and other local cheeses. Very small portions but very interesting flavors and textures. Then we had the two Sardinian mains, gnochetti with whipped vegan cream and fresh porcini (not always on the menu, usually they have it with vegan ragu) and kulorgiones, Sardinian dumplings stuffed with vegan cheese and a saffron sauce.

Vegan cheese - Edit
Very tasty and traditional Italian restaurant, vegan option, including a vegan pizza with vegan cheese, a few starters, and most importantly you can eat a vegan version of one of the Sardinia typical meal, Kulurgiones (that one is quite pricy though) beautiful view for those who come before dark.

Vegans in Sardinia! - Edit
🇮🇹
🇬🇧
Exquisite vegan entrance dishes and really good typical Sardinian first dish ("culurgiones").
Option of vegan mozzarella on top of your pizza.
I advise you to book in summer season, considering the location of the place (panoramic view on the sea and castle of Castelsardo). Tell them you want their vegan option of their menu.
Location is rustic but welcoming.

Pros: Opzioni vegane/vegans welcomed, Piatti ben concepiti/well-thought dishes
Cons: Prezzi medio-alti/medium high prices

Everything was perfect - Edit
Without mentioning that I'm vegan, the owner of a nearby hotel my husband and I stayed at recommended this restaurant and kindly made us reservations. I figured I'd have pizza with no cheese, but I was very wrong.
Read moreFirst the location - it's wonderful. The restaurant is on a hill and overlooks the sea. Most of the dining areas seemed to be outside so you're guaranteed a view.
Second, atmosphere - the restaurant is very popular and much loved by locals. Make a reservation!
Third, the food - It's Italy so I know I can ultimately eat anywhere that serves pizza, but as delicious as pizza is, it's hard for me to eat it every meal. On the English version of Rocca Ja's menu (and it was even on a page in my husband's menu, my menu didn't have all the pages) in somewhat small print on the Antipasti page it said they had vegan options for antipasti. I of course ordered the antipasti and it was spectacular. At first four small bowls with olives, 2 different salads (cantaloupe and lettuce in one with maybe a sumac dressing - hard to say but excellent, arugula and tomato for the other - dressed of course) and roasted peppers came out. I was pleased and expected no more. Then a bowl of marinated artichokes came out. Yum! Then, an eggplant mozzarella dish came out. I was confused and the look on my face must have been enough for the server to know I thought it was a mistake. She leaned over and joyously told me that the mozzarella was vegan!!! I almost cried with joy. I have no idea if vegan mozzarella is always available or not, but even without it this place was really great. and was such an unexpected treat. I think the restaurant is only opened seasonally so check the dates before you go. I would give 5 stars if HappyCow let you give that many to non-all veg restaurants.
Pros: Delicious vegan antipasti, location, outdoor seating
