As previous review said. They have a nice story about their vegan products and talk about their vegan Harira and tajine. I thought those two were good options. Besides these dishes they brought a pastry which they said was vegan but it wasn’t when we checked with the other waiter. They gave some fruit after we finished and tea, which we didn’t order. They tried to charge us the Moroccan menu. But we didn’t order it; the owner didn’t even show us their menu. So we had a discussion afterwards about the check. Luckily my husband speaks Arabic and has family there so he only charged us 200 MAD. During the night my husband (who had tajine with meat) had a terrible stomach ache and diarrhoea, couldn’t leave the apartment. I had it too the next morning, but not as bad as him. Don’t go here!
The 'vegan' pastilla had chicken in, and the 'vegan' soup beef. Apparently there was a mix-up in the kitchen. The lovely waiter was very apologetic, and offered us a free bottle of water as recompense (which we took out of politeness, despite the plastic issue). But we were still charged €15 a head for the tourist menu, which we had felt a little coerced into in the first place. The couscous and tagine we did eat were good. But be warned - check before you bite!
I had a great experience at Vandalucia! The staff were really knowledgeable about vegan food and they made sure to prepare traditional Moroccan dishes in a vegan way for me. I started with Moroccan soup, then had a bastilla with lentil filling wrapped in dough with cinnamon and sugar on top!
The restaurant itself is really nice, with live music and a beautiful interior. For dessert, they served us fresh fruit on the rooftop. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, definitely recommend it.
