Healthy food in a historic setting - Edit
Nutritious and good buffet. Stopped here for lunch on our way back from Turku archipelago. The restaurant sells also their own locally produced beer, so we bouth that on the go.

Four course vegan lunch! - Edit
I would like to give four stars almost but the one reason I can't were the noodles that were just too sweet for my personal liking. But overall a happy surprise to find out that the restaurant was able to serve us a four course vegan lunch (by request): vegan feta and watermelon salad, a tasty tomato soup, sweet and chili noodles with tofu and vegetables and a chocolate cake.

Positively surprised! - Edit
I contacted Paimion parantola in advance as they did not have any vegan options on their a la carte or lunch buffet, and they promised to make vegan lunch for our group. The food and service surprised us positively. They prepared us lovely celery soup as starter, delicious tofu dish with vegetables and pea purée as main course (in picture) and chocolate cake for dessert. The food was just lovely, and it even seemed so better than the lunch buffet for non-vegans. The staff was so helpful and friendly - they made sure that we did not miss anything!
Read moreAs this is not a vegan restaurant and they don’t have vegan options every day, you should contact them before. But as the earlier review states, I want also encourage others to ask vegan options here as this is one of few restaurants in the area and the vegan dishes and service was amazing regardless of the inconvenience of needing to contact them before. The service and the food was worth of 5 stars, but I would give just 4 as there are no vegan options always.

Visited Paimion parantola and got hungry. Their lunch didn’t have vegan options besides green salad. I asked for a vegan option and they were super friendly. They made me carrot soup, vegan curry with fried potatoes, and they even had vegan saaristolaisleipä (archipelago bread). As a dessert I got vegan ice cream made in Finland (Jymy). They even offered ice cream to my non-vegan friend who was with me and already had normal dessert. They had oat milk for coffee as well. Staff was so friendly and this place is amazing! Love Aino and Alvar Aalto’s design!
