Makes vegan, organic and gluten-free pies. Can be found every Saturday at The Nelson Market, in selected organic stores within New Zealand and in the online shop. Bakes pies at the market so they are freshly baked. Recently won the Gluten free category at the NZ Vegan Pie Awards and a Bronze medal at NZ Artisan Awards. Open Sat 8:00am-1:00pm.

Had x4 pies on offer all gluten free, and vegan. Tried x2 of them. Not disappointed, well worth the cost for a great pie!!!

Read moreWith some lighter flakier pastry it would be perfection — it’s worth saying that I’m not GF and may not appreciate how hard it is to make great vegan GF pastry though.
Pros: Best vegan pie fillings and variety in NZ, Friendly service
Cons: Pastry was too heavy, Had to wait (~10 min) for pie to be heated, Price felt slightly high for the size

I tried the ’Latin Lover’ pie ($8) at the Saturday market and was pleasantly surprised. I’m not sure what the ‘latin’ flavour was, but the pie was filled with a tofu scramble mix that was very nice. I’m not always a fan of gluten free baking, but the crust was nice too, and the free homemade tomato chutney on the side was really nice and lovely little bonus. The pie was heated at the market, so there was a wait to get it, but I was able to look around more of the market and come back. Pies are also available to buy cold to have later and I wish I had bought more.
