A great place to eat, an institution in Belgrade - Edit
If you manage to find the location of the restaurant, which is to be found is a surprisingly simple house in a street close to the Fortress, what a happy discovery you'll make !
Read moreThis place is simply one of the two best vegetarian places in Belgrade, the other being very close too.
We went to Radost (which means Joy in Serb), twice, on the evening, hungry for good vegetarian food in a restaurant that does not serve any meat or fish at all.
Which is pretty rare in Belgrade where meat is a biiiiiig must.
We tried the ramens, which were very aromatic and tasty, the burgers (warning, do not order a starter and the burger cause you cannot eat it all it is too big !), with a supplement of goat cheese (tasty !), we tried the mezze with buckwheat crepes and drank good beer.
The little garden hidden behind the restaurant is amazing if you go at night (think Notthing Hill and Hugh Grant and fireflies, all that in Belgrade !!), and the waiters are all friendly and nice.
Getting your food might be a bit long when you are hungry but everything is made when you order and it is well worth it.
We had a great time and totally recommend !
Pros: food is excellent, amazing garden, a gem
Cons: a bit difficult to find maybe

It was very hard to find this restaurant. No sighn outsid, when you go in it looks like a home. Just a tiny paper with alogo on a regular flat door lets you guess that you are right.

Incredible - Edit
We stopped by for an early supper without a reservation on a recommendation from our tour guide. The Manager very kindly accommodated us. Food was fresh and incredibly delicious. Wonderful atmosphere. Intimate community feel. Highly recommend - to avoid disappointment make a reservation - it is a popular place 😊

Radost - meaning Happiness in Serbian - Edit
I have been here a few times over the last couple of years and have always found the food to be delicious. It's a cosy venue, very central, which feels more like someone's home than a commercial eatery,

Rude and a bit disappointing - Edit
I made a reservation in the morning. I arrived on time, and the owner told me that there was no reservation, and ignored my explanation. Later that night, another couple arrived, and they were seated at the same table as my and my gf! It was awkward and very unpleasant, and I soon left. They made no apology.
Read moreThe food was nice, however the burgers were really small. It's a bit expensive for what it is, but it's okay, were it not for the reservation problems.
Pros: tasty food, good location
Cons: expensive, rude staff

This is my third time in Belgrade and at last I've found Radost. Look, I appreciate a non-commercial attitude; I also understand that businesses displaying signs outside their premises have to pay. But this secret should be shared. The food is great, the staff very friendly, the décor is refined (although the food isn't- geddit?) Follow the lovable Cow's directions and you're there.

What a disappointment - Edit
Everything was a disappointment. They didn’t even get up when we arrived. They served cold food. The vegetarian lasagne was okay. The quesadilla’s weren’t. We waited a long time for the bill because again they didn’t notice us. They were so busy talking to each other and looking at their phones. The dirty dishes were piled up at the desk. It seemed they didn’t want any customers. We didn’t feel welcome.

There's better vegan food in Belgrade - Edit
Me and my boyfriend were a little underwhelmed when visiting Radost. Maybe our expectations were set too high. I had the mezze plate as a starter, which was nice. My boyfriend had a soup that he liked very much. But the main dishes were a bit disappointing. He had the burgers, which were just okay. I had the ramen that lacked flavour in my opinion. The staff seemed like it wasn't able to handle all of the guests. They forgot to bring me my glass of wine and later forgot to bring us the dessert we ordered. We did get the dessert on the house because of the small mistakes that were made. My boyfriend (who is a vegan pastry chef) did like the cake. The staff was really friendly, the food was just okay. The outdoor seating was lovely though.

Great veggie place with special atmosphere - Edit
Radost was my first stop after arriving in Belgrade. I was nicely surprised when I literally entered a house with a warm and cosy atmosphere. Right away, the waiters offered me to sit in the garden, and if the weather is nice, I would highly recommend it. It's absolutely lovely! Not everything on the menu is vegan, but a lot of items are, and some can be made vegan. I would highly recommend the mezze I had with fluffy buckwheat pancakes, and also the quesadillas (vegan option available) that were delicious! The beetroot burger (also served with buckwheat pancakes as a bun) are really nice, too.

Not really worth the prices - Edit
The restaurant is a small apartment, with retro decor, in a somewhat remote building.
Read moreThe overall impression was decent, but nothing special. The quality and quantity of the food did not really justify the high prices.
Two of the dishes from the menu weren't available. The side dish we ordered arrived with olives instead of cherry tomatoes, without the waiter bothering to inform us this before bringing it.
On a positive note, he did actually know how to answer questions about various dishes on the menu.
While the side dish was a full plate, some things like the buckwheat burgers and the raw cakes were tiny, despite their steep prices.
There are definitely better and more valet-friendly veg options in Belgrade. I would not really recommend this restaurant.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: High prices, Location

Oh my god, the hummus was good. - Edit
I don't really like to go to "vegetarian" restaurants so much but this was all they had in Belgrade. The food was really good and portions huge! I was completely stuffed after eating an appetizer of hummus, olives and those little triangular lebanese bread thingies. And main food was a big bowl of ramen soup. The restaurant was beautiful but I really don't like it that you can smoke inside, this bothered me a lot. This seems to be the norm in the balkans. Ugh. Good food though and friendly staff :)

Restaurant is little hard to find due to lack of signs. I was welcomed warmly and had Soup of the day (Vegetable, OK but nothing special), Tortillas (with vegan filling, excellent tasting), followed by Orange Almond cake which was good. All in all a good meal.

Nice place, average food - Edit
3 stars for the interior and the effort. Food was just bad. Burgers with no taste, served with one piece of raw tomato and a mini piece of lettuce. Japanese ramen were just instant noodless in tasteless water, something you can buy in supermarket for 50 cents. Such a pity as in Belgrade is very challenging to find a vegan food
