Mixed bag

The restaurant serves British style food.

There was only really two vegan main dishes on the menu, a vegan curry of the day and a vegan pasta. Though the staff were very kind in offering to adapt other dishes to make them vegan.

I opted for the curry and it was a bit disappointing. Mushrooms floating in a very oily curry sauce. It tasted okay, but would have been better with less oil and with more in the sauce than just mushrooms.

Pros: Staff offered to adapt the menu, Nice restaurant ambience

Cons: Not many options, Curry way too oily and disappointing , Quite a long wait for the food

Pretty enjoyable vegan curry

I opted for the vegan curry of the day (note: when I asked what the curry of the day was, I was informed it was Lamb in spite of the item being listed as (V/VG) so worth specifying that you want a vegan curry since it’s unclear that meat currys are an option)

I was offered mango chutney as an extra which I’m glad I took up because it was very tasty. The included Curry, flat bread and pakoras were all very nice but the rice was disappointing. It was lukewarm at best upon arrival and I regretted not speaking up about this as it was also not particularly nice anyway.

Fortunately I had been recommended a side of chips by someone at the table who had been before. They were great when dipped in the curry and surprisingly nice with the mango chutney too which made up for the low quality side of rice.

I must admit my expectations were low when I saw how much of the menu was aimed to appeal to British expats and holiday makers (Sunday roasts, full English breakfasts, fish & chips etc.) but I was plenty surprised by how much I enjoyed the food as did my meat eating friends.
