Wonderful hidden gem!!! But VEGETARIAN - Edit
Service is excellent! The owner is way sweet and gave us many teas on the house to try. She explained to us each Chinese dish as she was reading a poem. All were very delicious and the veggies are locally harvested - amazing! Everything was very well cooked and seasoned! The only point is that the "pork burger/steak" with cheese on top isn't vegan (at least not anymore). She explained to us that it contains egg and milk, and offered to swap it for the shredded tofu and stir fried green veggies, what we promptly accepted and we never regretted it😄we were very happy with the meal and we totally recommend this place! Just pay attention that is now vegetarian.

I got the tofu, bamboo shoots, purse dumplings, and white tea. Everything was amazing and the atmosphere was very peaceful and friendly. The owners know some English so it made it easy for me.

Read moreWe went back a year later, and it was wonderful again. We ordered some of our favourites (lion’s mane ‘steak’) and tried some new dishes. The owners remembered us and came in for a chat! We highly recommend this restaurant, it’s still our absolute favourite.

Amazing food and kind staff - Edit
Very delicious food made with care and attention to detail. It almost was a fine dining experience, but very affordable. The waitress prepared an introduction to each dish on her phone in English, and helped us with ordering. She also helped us get a cab back to our hotel.

It was honestly impeccable, I would say it could be Michelin star.
We had a private dining room and the owner and his team recommended dishes for us as we are unable to speak mandarin / Cantonese.
We had 7 dishes total - some vegetables that we’d never tried before, some sweet delicacies such as dragon balls and in addition we had some complimentary dishes. The staff translated what each food was as it was brought out and the health benefits of each dish, they had prepared it on an iPad to be played as they brought each dish.
The team were super friendly and the food was incredible and the price was so reasonable we felt guilty that we didn’t pay more!
Overall one of the best dining experiences I’ve had

Creative and delicious vegan food - Edit
During our trip to Hangzhou found this restaurant near the West Lake’s Lingyin Temple. Creative, visually beautiful and flavorful dishes set in a country house-like setting. We got two dishes that had dry ice, our favorite was the one of an appetizer of different grains and seeds in the center of a lotus leaf, one per person. The owner or chef must like the arts, even the given names of the dishes are poetic. If you are looking for a memorable meal would highly suggest! There are some other veg places right around this area too near the temple.

If you are visiting Lingyin Temple, this restaurant is about 600m away. The nearest metro station Gu Dun Road (古墩路) on Line 3 is about 2.5km away.
Read moreLook out for the small sign by the 1 way road and walk into the small lane. Excellent service staff, friendly owner, super cosy restaurant with great ambience.
There are set menus or you can order ala carte. We went for the ala carte and some of their seasonal vegetables are home grown/organic.
Reasonable pricing for the ala carte menu. Else, it is RMB 199/pax for the set menu.
Food is excellent and super tasty. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again if I am back in Hangzhou.
