Nice Location, Decent Food - Edit
We've eaten in many, many restaurants throughout Ecuador and can usually, even in non-veg restaurants, get a nice, inexpensive vegan meal with rice, a bean/lentil mixture called "menestra", and a salad or some cooked veggies, called an "almuerzo"(lunch special). It usually costs under $10 for two of us, including beverages.
Read moreHere, the server would not give us the option of ordering the typical almuerzo minus the meat, but made us choose the vegetarian menu which included a few salads (minus the cheese indicated on the menu) and the vegetarian plate (without cheese), which were both more pricey.
It was good, but the portion of menestra on the veg plate was really tiny, and the meal cost $15, which is about double what we usually pay. I know it's still cheap by US standards, but I felt penalized for being vegan.
The service was good and the location right next to the river is lovely if you eat outside. The inside tables face the street.
