Holy WOW this is the best vegan kebab we've ever had. Juicy, packed with flavour, and a succulent break from the standard falafel. And the chips! So crunchy and delicious! 🤤
Read moreWe were down for the day from Melbourne, but have thought about this kebab so many times in the weeks since that we're planning a trip back just to eat it again 😂 Seriously SO worth it.
The owner was absolutely lovely: welcoming, full of interesting stories, and kind enough to substitute the tabbouleh because we dislike parsley.
They homemake their own vegan meat and we can't recommend it enough: it's juicy, packed with flavour, and some of the best meat I've had in 27 years of being vegan.
100/10 recommended! Go out of your way for it 👍

Best vegan option in Ocean Grove! - Edit
We saw reviews on Happy Cow and thought it’s worth a try out of very limited options, ordered through Uber Eats to deliver to Ocean Grove beach. The vegan kebab meat was really great !! We added tabbouleh and you have the option of garlic sauce, chilli, onion, tomato etc :)

Juicy vegan mock meat! Had both a kebab for lunch and then came back for a hsp for dinner. Serving sizes are very generous. The chips are also very crispy on the outside. They also have a vegan Cashew garlic sauce which is super tasty. They have a delicious home made chilli sauce but BEWARE! it is really spicy, so if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen! They also have Masterfoods Chilli sauce which is a milder spice.
Read moreSpoke to the lovely lady who appeared to be the owner asking about the vegan options, and she said that her son decided to go vegan in 2012 and brought home some store bought soy meat. She was supportive & felt she could do a better job and she made her own version of vegan meat. She said he's still vegan.

They make their own vegan meat and it is sensational. Massive side kebab , I always split with my partner because there is no way either of us could finish a whole one by ourselves.

My husband and I frequently order Portz for dinner to the point where they greet him by name whenever he walks in to get our food. I never get sick of the vegan kebab it's sooo yummy. The staff are so friendly.

Good vegan kebab! - Edit
Ordered a vegan kebab which was nice. The garlic sauce was delicious. Staff are friendly and the vegan options are all cooked on a seperate pan. The kebab itself was very heavy in weight despite looking small in the photo. Taste was good too however felt it was a bit overpowering with the soy pieces. The soy itself tasted great, but after a few bites, it felt dry. Still a great place to visit and happy to see there was a vegan option available, especially if you are travelling to the coast for a holiday.

The owners at Portz Kebab have really thought about their vegan options. The vegan kebab is to die for, and they’ve even got a vegan cashew based garlic sauce. The staff are always so friendly. What you get is great value for the money you pay. 5 stars.
